Curious to know as well. Make sense for current 2011 8th graders.
it makes sense to us soccer.

for recruiting purposes I thought it would be smarter for a 10th grader to play with other 10th graders. I have a DD with a September bday but I’m not having her play down a grade year. Seems like other players in that situation are. Wanted to know their reasoning that’s all.

Most parents can’t tell the coach which team their DD gets to be on. I don’t know if I would want to be at a club where parents have that kind of say over a coach. You must be at NVA…

Seriously, NVA should take this opportunity to realign players in their correct age groups. Things have gotten out of whack.

NVA is a mess from the top down. The TD allows his daughter to play 2 years up, and because of that, many other kids in other age groups have been offered the chance to play up as well even though they clearly do not belong on that team. As a result, the team is becoming weaker, and strong players will eventually start to leave because of these weak decisions.
Does he think recruiters not know?

Maybe not all, but they will be just fine with a couple of outside pickups. And the coach is a draw for sure. Good decision by the club.
nobody cares. Relevance relies on Arl going GA and even when that happens you know who the first choice is. Hint: Not the only ECNL club in Fairfax.

Keep chasing that “relevant” club if that is the best fit for your DC.

some going down. Some are heading out. Coach is definitely an improvement if he can manage his conflicts.

You mean coaching a college team and then making FVU events. Quite the opposite conflict to overcome.

NVA parent here, I respectfully disagree. MY DD is developing and on a great trajectory. I’m happy with the style play.. We have arguably the best fields in NOVA. A few strong players will leave, and a few strong players will take their place.

This doesn’t sound like a parent, unless related to a staff member.

Anonymous wrote:Why would outside 2012's want to come to VDA now and compete with ALL the 2011's? I am sure they will be given first priority with the amount coming down, literally a whole team

They won’t. VDA has 4 current 2010s who are going to be U16 next year. Then 9 current 2011s who will be U15 next year. Because of those moves the current 2012s who will be U15 next year and aren’t staters will likely move elsewhere

The 2012 team’s roster is only 15 so they can absorb 8 or 9 players with only a few cuts. They don’t have to burn the whole team down.

Flame on. Plenty are getting cut.
some ga teams will get really good

Just another thing to add to their website just like the showcases they don’t attend. No way he’s coaching that team.

No, I’m not a coach or an admin. I’m just a parent adding my POV. Isn’t what this forum is all about?
