Didn’t Brown have cameras in the buildings?

Brown sounds poorly managed. Now that the suspect has been cleared and released- I’m assuming his story is true and isn’t a schizophrenic delusion. He is student at Brown and was staying in hotel due to dorm flooding. Yet Brown isn’t aware of this? Odd

Apartment, not dorm.

Doesn’t matter. Brown should be aware of who has been accepted and who is enrolled in classes or eligible to enroll. Brown saying they have zero record of him having ties to the school- when clearly he has either been accepted and already taking classes or enrolled- isn’t a good look for them. How does that happen?

Or maybe he's lying on this linkedin profile? And not enrolled/transferring to Brown at all?

Doubt it. His profile was very specific and everything else seems to be true. It’s possible he enrolled but hadn’t started yet, or in starting spring semester of something. But Brown should have record of him being offered acceptance- at least. I don’t believe he completely made up it up and there is zero ties

So the veteran/student in the news was NOT the shooter?

Thanks, I'm an alum and can't wrap my head around this. I am so sad this has happened to my alma mater. Why is this thread in the Politics forum?

I think it’s a wild coincidence. This is an Ivy, most of the people in that room were probably liberals who were also shot.

Earlier in the thread, someone else was strongly pushing the antisemitic angle on this shooting. I think we should’ve all learned by now not to get ahead of ourselves in making assumptions about the shooter.

“ BREAKING - Police now have a suspect in the mass shooting at Brown University but are refusing to provide the suspect’s age, race, or motive, only stating that the shooter “yelled something” before the attack and that the weapon used has a “unique characteristic” on it.”

If it was a white male, we’d know it. They only delay the id when it’s not

You should not have spoken so soon. It usually is the other way around anyway.

You were saying?

It's obvious why after you read some of the comments.

There were two. Two. One was a devout Christian Republican sophomore student.

The shooting happened in Rachel M. Friedberg's classroom. She is a Teaching Professor in Economics and a faculty associate in the Program in Judaic Studies. She was a professor in Israel for four years

It’s possible that there is no deep political motive, some people are just mad at the world.

But she was not the one leading this study session. It was reported it was her Teaching Assistant (TA).
