The Unibomber--his brother read his manifesto and recognized parts of it and turned him in. Really smart guy.

Among other things, he recognized that his brother used the phrase as "eat his cake and have it too," which I find kind of fascinating. It's such a slight variation on a common phrase but it is distinctive.

Yes I’m sure you could do better at leading the investigation. They had a tip, followed it, and it didn’t pan out. It’s not unusual and I don’t understand the internet outrage.

The fbi has been poorly run, good peple have been fired, others have been reassigned to troll the streets for immigrants instrad of investigate crimes. Its not surprising we now have mistakes and a slow moving investigation.

Saturday was the sabbath, there is a whole Jewish orthodox community just up the road. If anyone wanted to shoot up as many peaceful unarmed Jewish people as possible that is what would have made far more sense.

I would put more money on a personal relationship with one of the dead students, an unreturned attraction or rivalry with one of them, or a relationship with Brown the University and the engineering dept specifically. Getting back at someone or something.

And there’s a possibility that even if he was looking for someone in particular, they may not even have been there at all, and he just thought they might be.

From behind, the guy walking reminded me a lot of David Berkowitz. Soft and nerdy looking. Like you could tell me he was an engineering student and I wouldn’t say he doesn’t look like it. I once knew a guy who sat in front of me for four years in HS homeroom and he walked exactly like that. He got bullied a lot, and also ended up being an engineer.

There are just plenty of other places where you could kill a whole lot more people and this feels like a relatively specific destination.

I agree with some of your speculation. I think it would be helpful to the investigation for them to try figure out what the shooter actually said before shooting. Hopefully they have spoken to everyone who was in the room to see if someone could make at out any of what was said.

It is unfortunate that there has been this delay. If the shooter was a student he has likely returned home just like all of the other students by this point.

Sounds like if they did they were not working. Heard a security expert on tv this a.m. He said colleges don't like them because of privacy issues.

I'm even beginning to wonder if the pic they are showing of the guy walking down the street is the shooter. Lots of stories. One said it was a pistol, the teaching assistant said it was a large gun. One thing for sure, the video did not match the description of the guy who was detained. And, who from law enforcement leaked his name?



So sad for the families and friends. Such a beautiful young woman and the roommate of the young man who was killed gave such a nice interview about him.

But, it seems that law enforcement has not done a great job. That first presser was awful and the one with the Police Chief was worse.

Doesn’t matter. Brown should be aware of who has been accepted and who is enrolled in classes or eligible to enroll. Brown saying they have zero record of him having ties to the school- when clearly he has either been accepted and already taking classes or enrolled- isn’t a good look for them. How does that happen?
