I share similar observation as an outsider. I believe soon after option H was released, Wootton communities suddenly turned the table and claimed that their school is "safe" enough to wait till full renovation at 2035 or later. Crown community seemed to be okay as long as the Wootton at Crown HS include their kids to join them. Now the biggest issues are some Wootton call some Crown Communities kids out as ghetto and gangster and would drag down their Wootton prestige state or national ranking and their prescious snowflakes kids to the drainage with no more bright foreseeable future. |
Didn’t see a single person use the term “ghetto” except for you but yes gangsters means someone is in a gang, and factually GHS has gang members from MS-13. So whether you decide that is acceptable to you for your children is your own choice but it is True nonetheless. And Wootton didn’t change and say their school was now safe enough-we have said we want the Emergent level things fixed but are willing to wait for the full renovation. We NEVER asked for a brand new school in a totally different location-ever. This is An MCPS mistake that they are trying to frame as an answer to problems they themselves have created. |
But yeah-maybe you are right that it will be fine-these kids sound sweet: https://www.wusa9.com/video/news/local/15-year-old-brings-loaded-ghost-gun-to-gaithersburg-high-school/65-9b47f03f-10e3-4d42-bca8-7f7a6bf41eb3 |
Wootton is not the only school that has had their CIP constantly moved out. But, it is the only school that will have a brand new HS a couple of miles away. The CIP was based on projections, which have no changed. Falling enrollment and huge revenue shortfalls are now the current projections. |
| They should just hurry up and announce the plan. Getting tired of these discussions and waiting. |
| I am not in the Wootton cluster. If I was I wouldn't want the school to be blended with Gaithersburg either. |
| It is not realistic for Wootton cluster to think that they should have no changes to their boundaries. It's one of the closest schools to Crown. It's Wootton, Gaithersburg, and QO that should have the biggest changes. |
Then why isn’t RM changing any all? They’re overcrowded and also part of reason to build crown. Wootton is never over capacity but has to change because of DEI goals |
So now we stereotype all kids at Gaithersburg to be like this one? So then I guess we can stereotype all kids at Wootton to be like the one who had an actual plot to carry out a mass shooting last year? In that case, seems like the Gaithersburg kids are logically the safer group. |
Part of Gaithersburg has already been assigned to Wootton for many years, due to the Fallsmead island. This would just add the area across the street from that existing part. |
Having a plot and actually taking a loaded gun to school are two very things. but you know that. But there are plenty more incidents if you want to google them. |
RM is more than twice the distance from Crown. |
So you would rather your kid go to school with kids who intend to indiscriminately kill many students than kids who intend to kill a specific student? Weird. |
|
This really should not be so complicated. Crown should be 1/3 QO, 1/3 Gaithersburg, and 1/3 Wootton. And then those three schools gain feeders from surrounding schools.
|
That’s not true. Fallsgrove is within walking distance of crown. |
