Option H is permanent and the old Wootton HS campus will be closed for good?

Just notice that. The website did not provide much explanation just a few maps and tables. So no more holding school and the new Crown HS will be the old Wootton + Rosemont ES? That is a dramatic change and final vote will be early next year?

And fields road wants to join. Heard Gaithersburg wants to send 1000+ students to join Wootton.

Yes combine the lowest performing high school in the district with one of the highest performing ones. What could possibly go wrong????!!!

Yeah yeah and don't forget to stratify the classes so that even though it has 3000+ kids it only teaches a subset of the AP classes, so it isn't possible to get a good education.

Nothing if I were a Gaithersburg resident zoned for Crown. My kids will get a better learning environment and at least some URM can get out of the ghetto.

Wootton parents asked for a new building and they get it.

I hope Mcps pushes through with Option H.

This is the best solution they have come up with so far.

That's what Cabin Branch said but Mcps pushes through with rezoning them to Seneca Valley. Mcps was right and Seneca Valley has improved since then.

Mcps has to make drastic decisions now to avoid pockets of poverty and crime that follows.

3000 students would make it harder to get spots on in activities and teams though right?

Because there is a bigger pool of students and limited spots?

Same thing with classes. What happens if there are more students that request a class then there is room for? I mean if there is enough students maybe they can justify having two classes/periods. But what if the number is more then one classroom size but not quite big enough to justify a second class?

It won't be 3000 students. Some of Wootton's feeders will have to go to QO, QO feeders further away from QO, to Gaithersburg and Crown. They have to shuffle everything.

People affected by this who currently are zoned for Wootton will lose a considerable amount of their property value I would assume? So they will just sell, move to much cheaper areas and then send to private (which they will now be able to afford since they are no longer paying for a house in the Wootton district). That’s how I see this playing out if H goes forward.

Last night rockshire residents were told that 1000+ students from Gaithersburg will join.
