DP I truly don’t care what other people do. You all can mask up for as long as you want. Makes no difference to me! As long as you let my kids take their masks off, we’re cool! |
No, it’s definitely not. Only in this anxiety-ridden part of the country. Even outside of MoCo, people are allowed to choose. Leave the area and get out of your bubble to see what ‘normal’ is. |
I am not wearing a mask while mowing grass to make a political statement. I am not wearing a mask outside during pollen season to make a political statement. And if I was riding with someone in their open top convertible and wearing a mask, it would be because I have severe allergies. Believe it or not, some of us have learned things from the pandemic, and I have learned that I can do a lot more with a mask on than without. Someone who says this is all political is full of it, and has never experienced allergies so bad they can barely breathe outside. |
Maybe you should have your mental health checked if you think Covid and being cautious is anxiety. Denial and narcissistic behavior isn’t healthy. |
| Three more days until masks on. |
Masks are great for you then. Wonderful. The objection folks have to masks is government intervention when one makes an assessment of risks to one’s own health. You have every right to make yours. So doe the healthy, fit, non comprised folks in this area. Mask mandates are 100 stupid. Deal with the underlying health issues instead. |

I like masks because it makes it easy to identify people by their politics without ever needing to engage them in person.
See someone strolling down the sidewalk with a mask on? That’s an ally. No mask? Enemy. Easy peasy. |
Thanks for proving the point every person with a brain tries to make. Mask wearing has little to no relationship to Covid prevention in the DMV. |
The tricky thing about that is that it breaks down in the neighborhoods around the science agencies like NIH, NOAA, NIST and DoE. I don’t ever see people wearing masks outside at work, and most are quick to take them off inside, when allowed (there’s still a general indoor mask requirement on campus, but a growing number of exceptions). So you’ll you’re going to have a hard time distinguishing between the Trumper anti-maskers and the scientists. Though, since we’re talking about MoCo, the odds are better that those maskless individuals are scientists. |
I hate masks. I will wear them if the law tells me too, and I do. But as soon as that order was rescinded, the mask came off. I do ask people if they'd like me to mask up if we are in close quarters. ~super liberal |
Two more days and masks on. |
|
If y'all antimaskers don't put those masks back on when you go to drug stores and grocery stores (where sick people may have to go) you are just asking for the mask mandate to come back in a few days.
The stupid, it hurts so bad. Which is why we have to have mandates in the first place. |
55.96. Damn. No good. |
I mean, that number by itself doesn't look so bad. But its been clear for several days now they Sunday (tomorrow) was our only hope for dropping below 50. Now we know what would need: no more than 28 new cases. That's not going to happen. It'll be interesting to see how the county handles this. Because the new cases *last* Monday were so low, I think we're quite likely to find ourselves in a position where we'll know tomorrow that it will be mathematically impossible to drop below 50 on Monday. So will they get a jump on sending out an announcement regarding when the mask requirement will return? Or will they wait for Tuesday for the CDC to "confirm" Monday's number, as they wanted to do when it came to dropping the mandate? Given the trajectory of things, and the recent push for more surveillance testing in schools and workplaces, it seems unlikely we'll drop below 50 for 7 consecutive days anytime soon. But the county should reach 85% vaccinated in about a month. So, the mandate will be gone again in time to do some last-minute Christmas shopping. And I think enough of the councilmemers, and even Dr. Stoddard, now agree it is time to stop using case numbers to drive our response. MoCo's COVID situation looks great in all ways besides case counts, and even a spike in cases won't change that. With our incredibly high vaccination rate, we'll be fine regardless of where cases go. |
Do the posters obsessed with these numbers have anything better to do? It doesn't matter. If you are obese or a smoker - be concerned. If you have elderly persons in your care - take care of them. Everyone else move the hell on. |
