Right? The week I got my drivers license at 16 I hopped in the car and drove 5 hours to my cousin’s house. Of course your grown ass husband can drive 6 hours with a kid in the car. |
| I drove 9 hrs by myself (a woman, OMG!) this summer. It's really not a big deal. |
|
Another vote for this not being a big deal at all. I drove 3 kids 11 hours by myself this summer. Didn’t cross my DH’s mind to worry. I like driving and even when we have another driver in the car, I typically just power through.
OP, there are bigger things to worry about - this isn’t one of them! |

Uh, is this for real?
My 65 yo dad drove 12-14 hours often and drove 20 hours in two days when he was 67. But maybe your spouse has some health issue?? |
LOL. No college will miss out on your precious. You’re only harming your kid. |
Lots of kids today don't drive. It is not that unusual. 2021 is not like 1985 where every 16 year old is dying to learn. |
And explains a lot about all the issues GenZ has. |
I’ve noticed this also. The only two teens living on my block do not drive (18 and 19). I was DYING to get out at their age. |
I bet they aren't checking out colleges. They just want to get away from OP for a few days. |
It’s 6 hours. What do you think will happen? |
| It’s fine. I usually only drive an hour or so at a time. I recently drove 7 hours myself for the first time in years and it was tiring but okay. I took a couple breaks. |
|
Obviously are not a hockey family. I have done Toronto and back in a weekend. A new album and a couple good pod casts, call a lonely aunt and the trip is over
|
| Maybe he has one of the DCUM special old best up cars that all the rich people on here supposedly drive? Six hours even completely alone is nothing. |
| Totally not an issue, OP. Six hours is nothing in a day. I can do 10 and DH, who doesn't really like to drive, can do 8 without an issue. |
Op, you have your DH on a pretty short leash. |
