Deal full of Subs BC of teacher group exposure?

Anonymous
NP but want to echo some of the teachers posting on here.

There is definitely COVID in schools and there is no distancing. I know administrators and DCPS central office are lying because they keep telling parents there are many mitigation strategies in place. There aren’t. They ask kids if they are sick at the front door and make them wear masks. Everyone was so worried about lunch being inside but the truth is kids are close to many adults, and other kids all day long. Three feet of distance is a joke and even if it were adhered to it’s not some magic deterrence when kids are together for seven hours a day.

Also while most kids comply with mask wearing many masks are ill fitting so noses are exposed, breath gets out through the gaps in the sides, etc.

Most if not all of our kids are GOING TO GET COVID.

There's absolutely no way to stop the virus in a school full of kids. 12 and up will be fine because they're vaccinated and it's incredibly, incredibly rare for them to get seriously ill. Under 12 will be fine because it's even more unlikely that they will get seriously ill.

Signed,
physician parent of an 11 year old Deal 6th grader.

Hmm. This physician doesn't agree with any of your points. Neither does anyone I know in real life who works in medicine or clinical research.

I find that hard to believe. Maybe not all kids, but writing seems to be on the wall that we will ALL get covid, kids included.

SO infuriating.

It is exactly what everyone should have expected. I know it's certainly what I expected.

That there are lots of breakthrough cases? They are happening everywhere

I spoke to Ms. Neal when I picked up my kid this week. I asked if it were true, and she said, “Absolutely, not!”

So did I!

So, did Deal have any positive Covid cases amongst staff and kids or is Ms. Neal lying? I'm really confused.

There is ZERO indicia of spread in DCPS schools to date and our numbers for the first week are EXPONENTIALLY lower than every other school district across the country publicly reported on. If y’all don’t see that as an amazing statistic, you seriously either have a mental disorder (likely anxiety) or are willingly blind to reality because you want to go back to sitting on your couch all day.

NP. Work with the PTA and it is all false. Also spoke with Ms Neal. You have people on here lying out of their behinds. Please reach out to teachers and principals to confirm anything you read here because i have kids in Janney and Deal and can tell you there has been an OBSCENE amount of false information on here over the past two weeks

Email here and ask: diedre.neal@k12.dc.gov . If you are a parent, you will get a respond confirming this isn’t true.

Just wait till the testing starts. Then get back to us about how great DCPS is doing

+1

The numbers are lower because no one is getting tested.

So without testing, what are you using as evidence for your claims?

I thought you said since there is no testing, no conclusions can be drawn yet?

Do you have data to compare to other school districts? Does anyone have this yet?

It really does look like you want the the system to fail.
