because quarantines are overbroad? apparently the policy is to do a very broad quarantine while the sort out who was a close contact. those numbers don’t represent actual close contacts.

Rottman and Neal are awful. I work at Deal. They are the worst micromanagers.

My Deal kid also had a bunch of subs the first week, some of whom were not actual subs but Deal teachers being forced to cover classes during their planning periods. And no lesson plans were left. So not only are the kids not learning anything in the classes where the teachers are out, but the teachers who are acting as subs are either not doing their own planning, or they are doing it at night and on the fast track to getting burned out.

Do you actually think teachers get to do planning during their planning periods? Nope. We're attending team meetings, department meetings, training, data meetings, parent conferences, and completing a gazillion surveys.

I’m confused, why is this worthy of being fired?

That's interesting to hear because as a parent, it looks to me like they're not providing sufficient oversight or making good decisions for students' education. Teachers seem to be out there doing their own thing without consistency or centralized support. Some teachers are fabulous and some are terrible and they don't seem to expect the poor performers to improve. I'm concerned that the good teachers might leave because it's hard to be a good teacher in a dysfunctional system where poor performance of your peers is ignored and they're churning out unprepared kids.

I'm sorry you're having a bad experience. Are they micromanaging in the wrong areas?
