I know someone it happened to (she'd had postpartum psychosis); she committed suicide in jail.

He didn’t understand what he was doing, why did he go to Mexico to do it?

He was a man with mental problems that has nothing to do with politics.

Look, some very tragic deaths happened in Baltimore recently. Young children killed by family members. Including a pair that were left in a car trunk by their aunt for, what, a year, before discovery. Do we want to speculate whether or not she was a Democratic supporter (given the stats for urban black voters)? No. It's not the point.

I would typically agree but in this case the killer was citing Qanon conspiracies as to why he was committing the murders

+1

Trumpism/Qanon is important here.

And if the baltimore killer was quoting some bizarre Obama conspiracy as to why she killed the kids yes I’d blame extremist politics for that too

False equivalence.

There is NOT a conspiracy theory ring supported by current D politicians and millions of D voters.

Cool it people.

How many children have been killed by their parents quoting whoever QAnon is? Is there a pattern of cult deaths?

No.

Good lord, the reasoning and logic on this thread is astonishing.

The man had major mental problems. It's no different from any other situations where family members kill children or parents or spouses.

It's sad and tragic, but rushing to blame it on your favorite bogeyman is hardly helpful and speaks more about you than it does about the man and his horrible deeds.

It is a trend and it’s accelerating.

79 individuals have committed crimes “motivated” by QAnon as of March 2021.

Remember, Trump was supposed to return to power this month, per QAnon online propaganda. We should anticipate more QAnon related crimes in the coming weeks.

Academics at University of Maryland are tracking it:

Trump was supposed to return to power tomorrow. Its the full moon for the QAnon nuts.

I don't know who the bigger nuts are, the QAnon people or the people who think QAnon poses a real threat.

Well, there’s now at least 5 kids murdered by their parents because they believed this QAnon gibberish promoted by Republican elites. It’s a threat, in the same way Islamic jihad is a threat. It thrives on stochastic terror.

Plus multiple bombings or attempted bombings, shootings and attempted shootings...

Have you ever met a Democrat who believes in that QAnon bs?

Never met anyone sane who believes that stuff, and that guy was sadly, not sane.

No he was not insane.

He knew it was wrong. He was tricked by the right wing.

Willingly tricked.

MAGAs/Q-Anon types are a cancer to our society.

Obviously this guy had some issues, 2 kids are dead and people here are salivating over the fact he might have been a Trump supporter to try and "prove" something.

You should be embarrassed.

Pretty sure that if someone had killed his kids because OBAMA had put out and encouraged messages that Trump was not the rightful president and he would be reinstated after all the prophesies were fulfilled etc., Trump would have had Obama arrested and possibly hanged by now and/or his gun wingnuts would have done something crazy themselves.

To solve the problem you must first recognize it.

Did the wife ever report her husband prior to this murder? He was clearly insane.

Dude, he said he was “enlightened by QAnon and Illuminati conspiracy theories.”

I never thought I’d find an apologist for a man who killed his innocent children in cold blood, yet here PP is.

He’s most likely schizophrenic. QAnon is something his addled brain latched onto. It doesn’t mean QAnon caused him to kill his children.

Why was the wife not worried for 24 hours? I would go insane if my child’s dad took the kid and went without telling me. Where did she think they go?!

No idea. Maybe he was stressed about other things and she thought he would calm down and bring them back?

He/They drove a Mercedes Sprinter van but were renters in their neighborhood.

The house was worth $1.4M but they were renting while having sub-tenants (a man and his mother) in their garage. Strange dynamics of a couple perhaps living beyond their means.

I don’t see what all the above info has to do with wife not getting worried... for 24 hours?!
