52 year old menopausal horny woman with 50 year old husband of 4 years. I feel like this is possibly very true. I am having the best sex of my entire life NOW.

I should add, this is a second marriage. First marriage my "partner" was never interested in making me feel good, beyond what was easy for him. That could be because he is a narcissist. Which means he was never a partner. Sure makes sense now.

My husband now is a true life partner. I have the intimacy I only dreamed of (at least now I know I wasnt crazy to). And he unlocked my potential. To go from ZERO vaginal O to a regular multiples is quite a change. Made possible by the right partner.

Keep thinking that.

I know it. I know lots of young women. I know they aren’t regularly having sex with old men.

This. Those of us actually in this age group know the truth. The two women I know who either are in or have been in relationships with much older guys have serious issues. Everyone else wants a guy our own age or within a couple years. We have a few friends who married “older guys”. What that means is the married someone mid to late 30s when they were late 20s or early 30s. A ten year age gap is considered a lot and will prompt a lot of discussion about whether they will have enough in common, if it will be a problem that they might be in different life stages, etc. it’s considered a real outlier. A 15+ age gap would be considered a major red flag. Any man over the age of 50 would be a WTF. Even if he were rich.

You might think “oh, I have no problem finding 20-something women to date” as a man in your 50s. You don’t realize the degree to which you are fishing from an extremely shallow pool. Those women didn’t pick you over some 32 yr old lawyer. They didn’t pick you at all, really. She’s going through something and you are a symptom.

1+ so much this. It's like all the 55+ yr olds think women... know no other women. We are living it and so are our friends and acquaintances.

I blame the media for it. So many shows and movies based on the fantasies of male directors/producers where the 40 year old guy’s love interest is the beautiful 20s girl. Just doesn’t happen that much in real life.

Black male who works out daily and has a impressive sounding semi-public job. It is beyond easy.

There is a shortage of older black males out there, so I'm not surprised. Not so much with out of shape older white guys.

This. And most men 55+ have some degree of ED issues, no matter this forum leads you to believe

My husband is 70 and he definitely doesn’t have any ED issues but it certainly helps that he doesn’t have any health issues in general. Sometimes he fails to finish but usually by that time I’m worn out but I don’t tell him that. I can’t imagine how many times we’ve had sex given we’ve been married almost 40 years but I’m happy with the guy I’m with.

So you were stupid to marry #1 who sucked in bed. Whose fault is that?

I find it incredible that most 55+ men married to similarly aged or older women are not boning younger women just because they still can. Just for the release not for the intimacy and without ever leaving their wives. I'm not saying I like, condone, promote or defend it. Just that it is actually a difficult situation for which I have some sympathy. Am I wrong?

The men whose wives lose interest in sex ARE boning other women. Some younger, some older. As you said, just for the release, without leaving their wives.

Whether you condone it or not is irrelevant, this is just how “sexless” marriage works (hint: there is no such thing as a sexless marriage).

Posters on DCUM really have no clue about men.

I was all about the young, fit hotties within a couple years up or down of my age. I also spent a lot of time at happy hours, Dewey beach, hiking, marathon running, socializing...and an old man...just no!!

I met my husband (1.5 years younger at that time). He spoke two languages and traveled extensively (internationally) for work. I accompanied him on a lot of those trips, lucky to have a flexible career with good leave benefit. His company also paid for significant others to travel. With all of his frequent flier miles we were in first class most of the time.

I also managed to finish my grad degree nights and advance in my own career. It was a really fun time. We waited 7years to have our kids.

I can't imagine starting my life with an old fart. Nor, would I now want to be 51 with a 70 year old.

I just saw photos of Harrison Ford (79) and Calista Flockhart (56) on their Croatian vacation. Nasty. Gramps looked like he could barely walk. I’m 50 and husband is 49 and we both are very fit and active. I can’t imagine being saddled with an old man when I still had a ton of living and adventure left. We do so many active things with our teen boys too.

I do think there’s something off in the head with women that marry significantly older and men that marry significantly younger.

So, who are these women? Why has no one ever met them? Are they prostitutes?

Hope you don’t run into your daughter on Tinder, Gramps.
