I complained to someone once about a friend copying me and the reply was, “maybe your just not that original.”

Ouch! Harsh but true in some cases.

There is absolutely no graceful way to have that conversation. She would likely get defensive, deny she's doing it, and possibly flip it around and accuse you of being paranoid or controlling. Most people are not self-aware or reasonable enough to handle it well if they get called out on this behavior.
