Metropolitan DC Local Politics
I’d rather they learn the correct way to use “tenant” in a sentence, but what do you expect from a yokel, I guess. |
Yawn. No one in my family is an “uneducated yokel.” I graduated with honors from a top 3 law school and have lived in DC for 2 decades. Also, I’ve never voted Republican. Your insults don’t impress anyone. Responses based in substance are more interesting and valuable. |
Lol. Perhaps PP believes Racism is renting a place from Founding of Our Country? |
Interesting that you ignored my substantive argument to make your argument that I was not making an argument in substance. And yes I know the difference between tenant and tenet, I made a typo. Clearly you and the other PP have taken internet trolling 101 by only focusing on my typo and my insults. You missed a typo in the first part, by the way; I left out the word "think." I also know that slavery was racist and pretending the civil war was based on states rights doesn't make it so. The laws against critical race theory are dangerous not because they stop CRT from being taught in elementary schools but because they are written in a way that could stop teachers from teaching anything about race at all. The same thing happened when Trump had his executive order against certain types of diversity training. If you read the text of his order it is not enormously controversial but it had a chilling effect on any diversity training as the threats of lawsuits and costs of compliance were too onerous for some companies to deal with. This will be even more true for teachers- if you think you might get sued because something you taught might be in violation of a poorly written law you are likely to go too far the other way and just not teach anything about the racist past of this country. Also, I have voted republican in the past, not sure what your point of mentioning that is (do you think anyone who votes for republicans is an uneducated yokel?); I am able to use critical thinking skills that I learned in my top 1 law school (even though I don't think the fact that I graduated from a top law school means anything as you do) to evaluate candidates based on their positions rather than their parties. |
What’s a top 1 law school? |
You are all for “complete transparency” yet no one here is able to give a clear, concise and accurate explanation of CRT. |
Are you sane? BLM is a political organization with a PAC that endorses candidate for office. Apparently, they also have a school “curriculum” that DC is teaching from. You should be concerned. Any sane person should be concerned. This is Soviet style indoctrination. |
| I know Im late to this discussion but what does "astroturfed" mean? |
Fake grassroots The appearance that there is a swell of everyday normal people support when in reality it's a stage managed extension of political campaigns done via cutouts. |
Thank you. |
| Someone asked for a definition of crt, because no one knows what they are talking about. I went through the internet to today to try to figure it out. What you are really asking for is a definition of crt implemented in schools today. The equity collaborative, the company schools hire for equity training and coaching has a very succinct ppt on the topic: https://theequitycollaborative.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Intro-To-Critical-Race-Theory.pdf. |
| Pp here. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised to see graig Meyer of the equity collaborative is also a very active North Carolina politician. The right is definitely spinning crt out of control, but I don’t think the left is blameless either. |
Omg. No it isn't. You need to unclutch those pearls. You are ridiculous. |
No your hysteria over what BLM is and what they advocate is the problem here. You are so scared of organized black people who feel they should be on equal footing with you that you drum up this baseless hysteria all in the name of trying to get that orange idiot back in office. |
Wrong again racist. You know what else, it doesn't involve you apologizing for being whiter than white. So many lies... |
