“The Critical Race Theory fight in schools is thoroughly astroturfed.” Heritage doing it in DMV too?

And this is part of it: calling White people dumb and racist who disagree with theoretical CRT garbage. It is ignored, and behind closed doors, ridiculed and scoffed at, a theory hatched from a cesspool having no merit or application in the real world.

I'm getting stuck on the idea that cesspools hatch theories.

"hatched from a cesspool" is a metaphor of derision to equate CRT with worthlessness.

Of course it's a metaphor, but what a metaphor. Maybe next the PP can say that "CRT" was cooked up in the dispose-all, or given birth to by vultures.

In the critical social justice paradigm, Jews, who have never been seen as white by those for whom being white is a moral good, are now seen as white by those for whom whiteness is an unmitigated evil.

Bad ideas and theories backed by the government can lead to victims.

Proponents of critical race theory see themselves as fighting oppression, but their ideology’s logical conclusions are stereotypes and hatred that target the Jews.

FWIW, there is no CRT being taught in anything other than certain Graduate Schools and Law Schools in the US. There is no high school or elementary school that teaches it. This whole thing is right wing tripe.

Ashburton Elementary School in Bethesda had kids list their various identities and then sort them into oppressed and oppressor. That's critical race theory (and critical theory in general) brought to the ES level.

Back to OP's original question and point:

So what if it is an astroturf movement?

Do people who pay property taxes to support local schools have no right to an opinion, unless they actually have kids in those schools?

I contact my local school board about various issues on a regular basis, even though my kids are in private schools. We live in this community, we pay taxes to support the schools and - therefore - have just as much of a right to speak about issues involving these schools as anyone else.

Our DCPS school spent a week in February teaching the DC Black Lives Matter in Schools Week of Action “curriculum.” To my 2nd grader. Let that sink in. They are teaching my 2nd grader to taken”action” without asking my permission. This is indoctrination and what you’d expect from China or Russia. It is frightening.

I would have pulled my kid out of those classes for the week, or for the time they spent on this, and let the teacher and administration know exactly why. Completely agree with you, PP.

Hey, if big money wants to help organize people against CRT, I’m all for it. The Left has big spenders helping on their own issues du jour. People don’t want their kids indoctrinated- the tide is turning as some of this looney business is being exposed. I’m all for complete transparency and a very open dialogue. One side shouldn’t be able to bully and demand we all heed to their nonsense.

IN LCPS, a school board member was busing in activists to support CRT. Deleted the post when caught.

No you don't. Just like even though your private school gets a tax break because it is a non-profit and that makes my taxes go up, I do not have a say in what that school teaches your kids. We all pay taxes for plenty of things that we do not have that micro level of control over

If you think that is indoctrination please take your kids out of DCPS. Schools don't have to ask permission about everything they teach kids, think of the chaos that would result in.

How racist can the GOP go? Never ceases to amaze me.

NP. This stuff does make me consider pulling my DD out of DCPS. CRT is an ideology that promotes divisiveness and judgment of other based on skin color, not content of character.

If you it is bad to teach kids that racism was a core tenant of the founding of our country, then, yes please do pull your kids out of DCPS so my kids do not have to go to school with uneducated yokels who do not know or want to know that slavery existed, segregation existed, the Supreme Court once said that "separate but equal" was acceptable.

You'd think that the ONLY thing Martin Luther King Jr ever said in his whole life was that one sentence in that one speech.

I mean, you might. But not me. I’m pretty well versed in what MLK believed in. It isn’t consistent with CRT.

If MLK was around today, CRT advocates would call him an Uncle Tom.
