Dp. Omg stfu with this. No one working Kardashian PR is posting on DCUM. No one remotely famous is posting on DCUM. Go back under your bridge. |
+1 Completely agree. |
"Getting within striking distance of passing is an achievement." Um...no. The achievement is passing. I realize so few things fit into binary categories anymore but this one remains! She did not pass. Fin. Maybe next time. |
She’s an entitled brat who thought she’d be a hot shot move lawyer. She failed miserably not “striking distance.” She’s dumb as a fukin rock because she failed and she deserved it. You’re dumb as well. I’m dumb and I passed the bar. Next! |
You’re more than just dumb. Next! |
Everyone in the original thread was supporting her and cheering her on. Most everyone. She wanted something that you can't just purchase and grift your way through. This isn't her fake body or fake reality TV show. Her work in criminal justice reform, while probably for clout, is commendable. She should stick with lending her money and voice to worthy causes. If she wanted to be a real lawyer, she would have finished college, gone to law school, studied for the bar, and passed, like every other lawyer. |
I am not a Kardashian fan, but if PP is correct a 20% pass rate is not very high so she has company in her first time failure. I failed my profession's accreditation test on the first try but passed the second time, and no one has ever asked me about this in an interview or other professional setting. |
So your begrudging her for taking the shorter more efficient route instead of doing seven mostly pointless years of education? |
DP. Well, it’s not more efficient if she can’t pass the test, is it? |
Unless she cheats, she will never pass it. She's dumb as a brick. |
Would Kim ever hire an attorney who didn’t graduate college? Is she negotiating her divorce from Kanye with an attorney that read the law? I seriously doubt it. Like I said, her caring is truly commendable. But like with any important cause, caring is not even half of the battle. |
The CA baby bar is given every June and November, and students must pass no later than their third eligible test date. Since KK failed the June 2020 exam and skipped November 2020, her last chance is June 2021.
Even if she were to pass, that only grants the right to continue reading the law and take the full bar exam in 2024 (which itself has a low passing rate for baby bar passers). |
It's funny to me that people think Kim must be too dumb too pass the baby bar (or the real bar) or that everyone who passes the bar is smart.
I know a guy who got a perfect score on the multistage portion fo the CA bar exam. In law school, he was best known for hitting on underage women, coming to class late, and watching porn on his laptop in full view of other people. He was one of those people who benefited heavily from the law school grading curve, because it prevented him from failing out of school (it's hard to get an A but it's also hard to get a D or even a C -- almost everyone gets some form of B). But he had a great short term memory, put in a month of concerted effort on studying for the multiple choice section of the exam, and he got every single question right. If you asked me if I thought that guy was smart, I'd say no, but the bar isn't really about "smart". Yes, the essay portions are more challenging and I'm sure he didn't do as well on them, but he passed the bar on the first try, in large part because of his very high multistage score. Meanwhile, I studied for the CA bar with one of my closest friends who had a 9th Circuit clerkship (which if you know, you know) and she failed on her first try. She was super stressed out and overthought it and I think anxious about her clerkship. She passed no problem the second time but it sucked because she had to study while clerking and everyone she knew had already passed. She's one of the smartest people I know in the law and has had a great career. The bar isn't about smart v. dumb. It's a standardized test. Smart people fail it and dumb people pass it and everyone has different strengths and the bar only tests very specific skill sets. Kim failing the baby bar isn't really evidence one way or another of anything. I do think it's a more interesting choice than most of her other endeavors, especially because it seems driven by both her interest in criminal justice and her dad. |
^multistate, not multistage. Autocorrect doesn't know bar lingo. |
Like every person, she is great at some things, not so good at others. I'm not convinced that the mental slog of studying for and passing the bar is quite like anything she does. But who cares? She built the Kardashian empire, no one would know who Kris Jenner is without her. She probably has a dozen attorneys working for her at any given moment. Why does she want any part of their lives? |
