Read to the end.

Whenever actors say they don’t like labels (gay or straight) and don’t say who they are dating, they’re gay.

Sam Heughan is the same way. He had a beard for a while (a no name “actress”) who attended some public events with them. She lived in the US while he’s always lived in the UK. And he frequently travels with another actor. Before he got famous, he was out (but nobody knew who he was; he was just a theater actor). His people scrubbed his internet presence to remove info on his boyfriends once outlander started.

Rege-Jean attended red carpets with a female actress who also looks gay. Everything else online says he’s single, private, and shuns labels.

Why is this important to you?

I think there is one poster who is obsessed with outing male stars as gay, particularly Sam Heughan, but others too. I've noticed just in casual reading of these forums because it is so oddly specific and get shoehorned into a variety of posts.

Give it up, poster, no one cares!

Sam Heughan lobbied hard for the Bond role.

Despite his ridiculous body, huge fan base, and superhero and spy roles, the gay rumors took him out of the running.

^^^
That’s the relevance to a thread that seems focused on Bond.
lol so if he’s gay, he can’t play Bond? And his features are too feminine??? Prince William corners the market on thin lips and bulbous noses and people find/found him attractive. European men have been doing the metrosexual blurred lined sexuality for years. I don’t care if he’s gay, I think he’s a good looking guy who would make an excellent Bond or Bond like character. I’m excited about his new Netflix role and any other roles that keep him on my screen for years to come. He seems genuine and his personality is charming based on the interviews he’s done in the States. He may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but he has certainly made a splash thus far.

Um...nobody has ever found Prince William attractive.

He was when he was younger! He started out as Diana but then morphed into Charles.

He's VGL now but Rege jean well get subtle cosmetic enhancements throughout the course of his career and look even hotter.

No one cares bc he wasn’t the draw or breakout star.

Nobody raves about Anthony. All the fans loved Rege-Jean. All the media and internet attention centered on Rege-Jean.

Only time will tell if fans are interested in Anthony.

It’s not that Hollywood is homophobic; it’s straight male audience members who are homophobic. Hollywood knows the audience better than they know themselves. And they know that straight men won’t watch a Bond film helmed by a gay actor.

I know a bunch of guys who would absolutely scoff at such a film. They can’t suspend disbelief. They will derisively call it “virtue signaling.”

Sad, but true.

Absolutely agree. Bond movies were made for men specifically. Young men are their largest audience, and they definitely cannot suspend their disbelief in regards to a gay male playing Bond. Women don’t care, but we are not the target audience.

But he could/might be.

It’s interesting because the audience for Bond films has evolved a lot in recent decades. Women watch it more than ever before. But they won’t watch the marathon on TBS. it’s pretty much always men who will sit and watch the same Bond movie for the 15th time on TV.

I don’t have the hard numbers to show proof. But I would bet that The box office numbers are pretty evenly split between men and women. But the syndication rights and values are much more tilted toward men.

And since he’s openly gay it doesn’t matter as he wasn’t popular to begin with. Plus his character just wasn’t that great the first season or that attractive. He looked like a werewolf.

Nope. He was barely a blip.

Shonda will find a new leading man.

to take the role of Anthony? Because that's where the series is going.

I thought he was great - better than Rege-Jean.

You stand with maybe 5 other people. He played his character fine but he wasn’t anything special.

He’s too old and didn’t want the role. The end.

Even though there are stuntmen, actors probably need to do enough action that they could get injured. Maybe he didn't want to do this at his age.

Daniel Craig sustained a number of injuries grooming Bond.

Who cares if he's gay? Did we timehop back to the 1950s?
