Some boomers are ok |
Boomer kids were a huge generation of rebels. They liked music their parents hated, they protested a war their parents generation started, they demanded equality that society denied, they pursued technology, the internet and computers and believed that the Jetsons were their future. If it were not for Boomers, the world would look more like the 1940s. |
I am a boomer and my parents left us $0 inheritance, nor did we ever feel entitled to any. My parents didn't pay for my college, my wedding, cars, trips, house... not a dime for any of my siblings either. I don't know many Boomers that got much financially from their parents. The children of Boomers seem to be like vultures circling their old parents waiting impatiently for their inheritance. |
WWE is not the internet. |
WWW. I’m sure a boomer invented autocorrect though. |
They didn’t have to pay for college or give you money b/c jobs were plentiful, paid well, and college, housing, were all way cheaper. Cars were more expensive maybe. But gas was crazy cheap. |
NP. I am going to just assume that this boomer vs gen x and y is an internal war among the whites, right? Jobs and college was definitely not plentiful for Black and Brown people. We were relegated to certain areas and not allowed to cross certain boundaries such as railroad tracks or parks, such as rock creek. A Black GenX or Y is farther ahead than our Boomer parents by most measures, and we are not waiting around for them to die and leave us their money, that they were limited in acquiring. |
Most white boomers always talk a big game, but they were actually quite happy doing sex and drugs on generously taxpayer-funded campuses while their black counterparts died in the streets fighting for civil rights. Also, as soon as boomers actually start making any real money they selfishly vote for the Reagan tax cuts and self-segregate to the suburbs. Then punitive welfare, crime and immigration bills in the 90s to crack down on anyone who doesn't look like them. Talk about pulling up the ladder behind them! And now millennials must help pad their retirements through unfunded Medicare Rx expansion and even more tax cuts. |
|
At the end of the day, it’s just a string of tired boomer tropes set to a hip-hop beat.
But that doesn’t mean it isn’t funny. |
Are you kidding me, it was hilarious! It's time for Boomers to be able to take a little joke, especially when so much of it rings true
|
|
I'm a boomer and I think it was very funny, objectively speaking.
Don't hate me because I'm a boomer. I had very little handed to me on a silver platter, outside of free public education as a kid. I pulled myself up by my bootstraps, and I didn't expect my parents to hand me nothing. You all are talking about the earliest boomers born in the 1940s. They are the worst. The made our lives miserable too, not just yours. |
| I laughed. If you're upset, well, a hit dog will holler. |
Except the silent generation were the actual rock musicians of the 50s and 60s. How do you not get that? |
Also, Bill Gates didn’t invent the PC. And what does Steve Jobs have to do with this? |
|
Arguably the first PC was the Altair 8800, developed by Ed Roberts, who was born in 1941.
Another innovation by a member of the silent generation, claimed by boomers. |
