🎵"Boomers got the Vax" 🎵

You can tell when a boomer is in a fit of rage because they start USING ALL CAPS.

BTW, boomers are the first generation to generally stop spanking and using violence on their kids - trying to do better than the previous generation of parents.

Boomers did not invent the internet. They were just coming out of college when it started.

Not the PC

Wrong. Steve Jobs, Tim Berners Lee, Bill Gates all born in 1955. All boomers.

WWE is not the internet.

Also, Bill Gates didn’t invent the PC. And what does Steve Jobs have to do with this?

Gates invented Windows which made PC's user friendly with a graphic interface. Prior to that you would have to interact in DOS on a PC. Also, Gates invented desktop applications which were standardized and user friendly. So yes, Gates invented the PC as you know it.

Google Steve Jobs if you've never heard of him or Apple/Mac.

The Altair 8800 was the first commercially successful PC.

And yes, I know who Steve Jobs is. FFS. But he has nothing to do with the question, which was about who invented the PC or the internet.

Oh and the first PC with a GUI was the PERQ workstation.

True. Mine used emotional and mental abuse. Hooray for progress!

My boomer Trumper dad thought this was hilarious. It’s funny because it’s true.

+1000! Did SNL realize such a fantastic discussion would ensue based on their hilarious video?

Boomers, take a look at this article and see if you disagree.

My 55 year old Dad is a selfish pr*ck. I’ll show it to him.

My in-laws are Boomers. “What have you done for me lately?” is their motto. Yet missed every single one of my child’s birthdays, sacraments, graduations, you name it. (Been retired for years. Well before we were married) Every time they have words with my DH, they exclaim “ you are out of my will!”. Keep it. We’d rather you show up once in a while.

YES. They said they will visit the kids after the vaccines. They are in vacation now, no visit. My 4 y/o doesn't know their names, it's this bad. MIL has a facelift coming up now - it was postponed by covid, so maybe by 2024 we'll see them.

+1. Mine aren't as bad, but yeah, same idea. Vacation after the vax even though they had to literally drive by us to get to their vacation -- no visit.

My mom (also a boomer) is very different. I'm lucky that way.

Bill Gates also invented MS-DOs , which was a huge step up from assembly language (I'm a barely boomer who has worked in desktop support since 1990, and get off of my lawn!!).

Bill Gates didn’t invent the PC. He didn’t invent MS-DOS either; it was a rebrand of 86-DOS, which was then purchased by Microsoft.

Well, the greatest and silent generation used a wooden spoon or stick. So, you know, sticks and stones...

My dad worked with some of the teams that helped invent the first PCs. He is silent generation (born in depression, starting working in precursor to the computer industry in early 1950s).

We had to guilt my boomer parents into coming to their grandkids christenings. They never came to see the grandkids even before covid. They are very comfortable with a full pension and live in a gated community of McMansions.

My silent generation FIL is amazing and my older boomer MIL has also been involved. My kids know them at Grandma and Grandpa.
