Nope. Anyone. |
You are incredibly ill-informed. I guess the DC Council, which is encouraging this, is Trumpy. That will be a surprise to them! |
You are a typical low information voter. Sad really. |
| I live in PG county and welcome everyone from DC to come on over and get the vaccine at one of our sites. No bad feelings from me! My work and private life is closely tied to DC residents. I want us ALL to get vaccinated and get back to living life together. |
First of all, you are wrong about the Greenbelt site. There was a lot of media coverage stating it is for all DMV residents, and they are registering and vaccinating people who use their DC address. Second of all, what makes you think that cutting off the Greenbelt site from DC residents helps equity? Did you stop to think that POC DC residents can ALSO go to Greenbelt? Third, what makes you think that white DC residents going to Greenbelt (or Salisbury or wherever) is taking a vaccine away from a DC or MD POC? The sites are open to all, and have plenty of appointments right now. To the extent there is an equity problem it is because vulnerable communities are not getting the right outreach and access brought to them. We need to go right to the neighborhoods where people are. That has ZERO to do with a white person driving to Salisbury, and everything to do with the DC/MD governments' failure to plan outreach efforts. |
Nope. You are incorrect. |
Considering that some people on the DC council think Jews control the weather and jet-set to Egypt in the middle of the pandemic, your reliance on their morality is ill-informed. |
The media coverage was that they expected to vaccinate a lot of people from DC and VA BECAUSE THEY WORK IN MARYLAND, e.g., at NASA which is in Greenbelt. I cannot believe that you are ignorant to think that DC residents going to Baltimore or PG is not taking a vaccine away from people who live or work in those areas. FFS. By that token, just enroll your kid in Maryland schools, collect Maryland unemployment, whatever. All of these institutions are funded by federal+state dollars and resources. Selfish is as selfish does. |
So it’s ok for DC to share but not you? Selfish. |
Ha! I live in DC. I am patiently waiting my turn while thousands of people from VA and MD, most of whom are not required to actually work in DC, flood into the city to get vaccinated in DC. That is also selfish, but at least they can arguably say "I technically work in DC." Instead we have people driving to Hagerstown, or Pennsylvania, or North Carolina, and jumping all over to justify their behavior. It's gross. It is a moral prisoner's dilemma, but just because the roll-outs have been botched, doesn't mean we should freeload/scam our way to a vaccine. And if does, then all botched systems should be circumvented. Poor IB choices - enroll in MoCo. No universal pre-K in MOCO? Enroll in DC. At least have the self-awareness to say, I am complicit in the vaccine inequity, and I will do X to offset my self-maximizing. Enough with selfies of yourself on your "destination vaccination" to the Eastern Shore. |

Oh ffs. There is literally NO support for your position that the Greenbelt site (which is a FEDERAL site run with FEDERAL money and FEDERAL personnel) is limited to MD. Instead, the articles clearly say all are welcome: https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/coronavirus/vaccine-site-at-greenbelt-metro-to-offer-shots-to-anyone-not-just-marylanders/2632407/ You have zero credibility. The problem with equity is a lack of information, outreach, and support, NOT supply or DC residents "stealing" vaccines: "In early March in Montgomery County, 66% of the county’s white residents were preregistered for the COVID vaccine despite making up 43% of the population. Meanwhile, only 8% of Black residents were preregistered while making up 18% of the population and only 9% of Latino residents were preregistered despite accounting for 20% of Montgomery County’s population, according to a letter from the Montgomery County Council sent to Gov. Hogan." |
Geez, are you this rigid in everything? If you'd only save 5% of your outrage and point it where it belongs (failure to do targeted outreach, and failure to focus on age tiers) you'd be on the right track. You seem much more interested in castigating other people as "selfish" while making illogically rigid moral guidelines for yourself, than you do about actually understanding and solving the problem. |
I truly hope this is a troll job. As it stands, all your doing is the opposite of flattening the curve. |
You have zero credibility, ethics, or reading comprehension. You are complicit in vaccine inequity - get on with selfish self - yikes. |
