13 y.o. girl sexually assaulted in Rock Creek Park trail in Kensington earlier this evening (March9)

I'm 34 and avoid walking outside when dark. I HATE it. I want freedom to walk any time in the day or night without fear being attacked, robbed, or raped. Why can't we have it? I hope the criminal guy is caught and put away for the rest of his life. He could have killed the poor girl if not for the hero passerby running toward the crimes scene.

It’s not being a feminist to put your own or your daughter’s life in danger as a political statement. Rock creek park has been dangerous for my entire life of 4 plus decades. Women and girls running there have been attacked regularly over the years. I can’t imagine why anyone would go walking or running there in the dark. It sucks and it’s not your fault that men go there to find women alone, but it is real.

I'd hate to get to a place where misandry is as widely acceptable as misogyny. Let's take care of our little boys by teaching them to do better not demonizing them. While humans continue to evolve we still use physical violence as a means to solve differences. I hate to sound like a bumper sticker but everyone needs to learn to respect everyone.

FYI most of the men commuting these random assaults are products of abuse and are are not the pampered sons of DCUM people.

If you research assault and rape stats in Rock Creek Park or MoCo, it’s enlightening.

The criminals definitely weren’t raised by privileged DCUM “boy moms.”

It’s not victim blaming to realize everyone must assess risk and take certain precautions.

I'm sure a bunch of "boy moms" are going to bitch at me, but it's interesting how we think girls need to police their behavior but when it comes to boys we all shrug and say it's normal. If you don't want your son to sexually assault someone stop letting him out by himself at night.

Are you for real? What’s with the antagonism toward ‘boy moms’?

Maybe you should go find this young man’s mom and tell her she was a poor parent.

This man was in his 20s.

This has nothing to do with moms on DCUM letting their 13 year old boys ride bikes in the neighborhood.

13 year old boys riding bikes right now grow up be the 20 year old men that are attacking our daughters in 7 years.

Wow. If you actually believe that, that is incredibly sad. Do you really think every 13 year old boy will potentially be an attacker?

Is there a link to these stats?

I’m interested in whether or not the number of attack as has increased in the past decade or so. Or if we just hear more about attacks/sexual assaults in general.

Because he was Hispanic?

He's just as criminal as the likes as Brock Turner and the similar DCUM "boy mom" spawn.

While I agree 100% with your last statement, remember this is DCUM.

Every male has the capacity to be a rapist. Every. Single. One.

Even your little 13 year old on his bike.
