How to get rid of Charles Allen?

Anonymous
I am reviving this thread.

I will volunteer time and money to defeat Charles Allen and put in his place a council member who has the bandwidth to tackle both crime and police reform at the same time. It does not seem like a heavy lift, but Charles Allen appears to be only able to handle the latter.

There are others like me in Ward 6.

Sounds great OP - but WHO?

I will vote for anyone who runs against him and also anyone who runs against Bowser.

might as well wait to see how things get redistricted, as Ward 6 is going to have to shrink considerably. Those of you represented by Charles Allen may find yourselves represented by someone else just through boundary changes.

it doesn't matter if there is redistricting--his decisions affect all of us who live in the District. I am in Ward 3, and I would contribute PP.

My thought exactly.

I actually want Charles Allen, Brianne Nadeau, and Trayon White off the council entirely. I believe they can be replaced by council members who have the capacity to be outraged by police brutality **and** by crime. I want council members who understand that if we continue to raise taxes on the wealthy (and to be clear I am nowhere near the income level that would be affected by the new tax rates), they can just pick up and move to Arlington or Bethesda.

I will bet good money that Allen throws his hat into the ring for mayor. He'll embarrass himself, but his ego is so massive that he thinks he will win.

I don’t agree with Allen’s approach to crime (honestly wtf with that) but his constituent services are VERY GOOD.

Gosh, I remember Tommy! He'd be right there with Allen today though wouldn't he? Quite to the left

I think Charles Allen is a great councilman and I'm proud he represents my ward! See you out on the hustings!

Uh, you do know that Charles used to be Tommy's chief of staff, right? And Tommy's community liaison is still there and works for Charles.

And? They're worse now.

I live in Ward 6, am a business owner in Ward 2, and would totally run against Allen. Just need to figure out how!
