She loves to play with her neighbor Pascal. Her home life is better though, a larger flat and stable parents though you do both smoke. She runs the streets of Paris freely learning about the world around her, picking up bits of foreign languishes at the pier, copy drawing fashions she see on the models, memorizing the names of painters from the neoclassic period. Every night you all haul up a telescope to the roof and watch whatever starts are visible through the smog of city. If you all had more money you’d take her to the Riviera.

Camille is sweet and on the quieter side. Her home is calm and clean, but a bit cluttered with books and ephemera. Camille’s parents both have advanced degrees. Mom studied abroad in Europe in college.

The girls share a room that’s lilac with canopies on the beds. They both play piano and you are convinced that Heather is a prodigy. Marian is exsperiemtint with weed she bought from a classmate, but there’s a chance it’s oregano.

Nope on every count! Oldest is in second grade, so no weed.

Your yurt is lovely this time of year, the pine cones and tree branches make it so festive, you don’t even notice the ants in your dirt floor. The kids are unschooled at a speciality organization housed in an old record store. The place looks like a gymnastics studio but with multiplication tables on the walls. All your toys and clothes come from Etsy because you hate “factory” anything. This spring, you are getting goats for the yard. As soon as the neighbors stop setting off fireworks whenever they conceive another child.

Marian found some red wine you left out in the kitchen one night. You’d gone to bed long ago and she got up for a glass of water. You were so drunk that you didn’t notice the bit left in the bottle. The wine tasted good, but she only took a few sips because she didn’t want you too notice. She has a taste for it now, she plans on taking some more at your outdoor new years party.

You read gone with the wins while pregnant and husband convinced you against Scarlett because of the Scarlett fever association. She goes by Georgie now, which you hate, but her best friend is named Virginia and goes by Gina so that’s cute. Every year you buy matching mother daughter dresses at Lily Pulitzer for your spring break vacation to Palm Springs which is as exotic as you can afford. Georgie is nime now an is currently obsessed with Squishmallows.

Your thirty now, your parents didn’t want any but had you to try to save there marriage. Both professors at Northwestern, statistics and cultural anthropology. Due to your mild daddy issues you had a two year affair with your professor, who put in a good word for you to go on an archeological dig. You were heartbroken, but he wanted you gone because his pregnant wife was suspicious. You have two cats, Isis and Osiris and a nice condo with lots of relics from your travels. Your mom is self centered and you too arnt close, but you still constantly chase after daddy’s love.

You chose the name because it sounded a little classier than most American names but still blended well. She’s twelve and just got her ears pierced, loves Claire’s store and got a stocking full of scrunchies and dubious skin products in animal/ice cream cone shaped tubes. She dance Ballet, not pointe yet but she’s getting excited about it. Your worried ballet isn’t best long term and are trying to steer her to debate club or model un. Magnent middle school, you wanted private but husband has FED job so it would have looked bad. Your husband is okay, but sometimes you remember the love of your life Jean Luc, the exchange student at high school from Belgium. Oh what you and Jean Luc did in that cafeteria that night.
Camille just knocked on your door too ask if you could go to Jamba Juice. Now your worried she’s too basic.

You and husband met at a shooting retreat, the kind in the middle of the woods with no cellphones. You knew you were meant to be when he presented you with a dead mockingbird. You made a hunger games joke and rest is history.
