Sure only 18% at the tip of our nose, which is why the middle of the country can't go past the tip of their nose either and understand issues that affect POC. |
3 people on my block in Bethesda are Trump appointees. I'm guessing that they and their spouses are in that 18%. I think only one person on our block had a sign - it was a Biden sign. Not everyone telegraphs their political leanings. |
or you are voting team Currently implementing racist policy vs. team did it decades ago and learned from it |
It is rare, rare, rare in MD to have signs in your yard in MOCO except in maybe Takoma Park... where they need to telegraph their every thought. This is often noted each election cycle in the Real Estate section... why are there no signs... it's because we are almost all Democratic, we don't really need signs. |
| In the past there is a map of what areas voted r or d and I have not seen it this time. Does someone have a link? |
That's not really true, historically. We last home shopped in 2004, and campaign signs were quite prevalent at the time. It was actually somewhat helpful to us as we were relatively new to the area. And yes, there was still some diversity of thought at that time. It was not all one way (or the other, obviously). |

Many older Indian-American Hindus voted for Trump. We think we are White. And sort of Christians. And glad that we are not the usual whipping boy of GOP. As long as GOP continues to bully Blacks, Hispanics, Kung-Flu Chinese and Muslims ...we are gold. We are born Brown Nosers....

Pew Research disagrees, 70% ish voted Biden. |
I don't think its really true now either. There were many, many signs in my Bethesda neighborhood - all Biden. |
30% is still notable. (DP). |
Trump passed prison reform. Biden still hasn’t done anything to mitigate the crime bill. To adults, policies and their effects > statements and tweets. Trump seems more racist, but Biden’s policies have done more to further systemic racism. I don’t care for them both and think it’s laughable that voting for an old, conservative Democrat white man with questionable policies and statements on race gives you some sort of moral high ground to stand on. |
According to exit polls, 35% of Muslims voted for Trump. Maybe Dems should realize “all Republicans are racist” doesn’t have the traction it once did. I wonder what Muslims think of the Dems stances on gender identity issues for example. |
This year was very, very, very different. But usually there are few signs. |
I don't think the saying is all republicans are racist... it's everybody is racist, and all Trump supporters voted for a white supremacist. |
| Statistically speaking, Trump voters (and Republican voters in general) tend to be older, whiter, less educated and more religious (particularly religious Christians, both Protestant and Catholic) than Biden voters. That kind of person might be living in Bethesda or Olney or Silver Spring. |
