MoCo 18% for Trump

Who are these folx who voted for 45 in MoCo? I mean, are they his appointees and those who work for the administration? What areas in MoCo are red?

I can’t take you seriously if you use folx. What’s wrong with the k?

Sadly they are my friends.

Most at Catholic and send their kids to Catholic schools. Some are evangelical. All are white, upper middle class. Some are military, but 1/2 my military friends hate Trump.

Well we do house a lot of Trump transplants. They will clear out after the new administration comes in.

They are your typical white folks in MoCo. You just don’t know them until you REALLY know them. They all hide behind their fake smiles/Sunday church services.

I live in Chevy Chase and had to drive up to Olney just before the election on an errand. I was driving along and suddenly found myself in a neighborhood with tons of Trump signs. I thought I'd made a wrong turn and ended up in the middle of Pennsylvania. But, nope, I was still in MoCo. That said, though, we also have a Trump appointee living just a few blocks away from us -- in one of the few houses in the neighborhood without a Biden-Harris sign on the lawn or decals on the cars. I'm not under any delusion that they are the only Trump voters living in the immediate area. They're just known to be Trump supporters.

Chevy Chase View, Chevy Chase, Bethesda - Rs who live here are quiet, but can be reliable party-line voters. I remember moving to Kensington after the Bush/Gore election and seeing a map with a pinpoint of red voters amid a sea of blue - the red sat right on top of Chevy Chase View on the map. Demographics have continued to shift in this area, but many of those voters are still around.

This just shows you don't know who to read data and are being purposefully provocative to stir $hit.

The "typical" white-identifying person in Moco actually voted for Biden. Because, numbers.

> 1 in 4 white people in Montgomery county voted for Trump.

True more voted for Biden ... but if you want to know who voted from trump it’s your typical white person, 1 in 4 you pass on the street voted for Trump.

^^ this is just a much more specific and longer explanation of the PP upthread who said "catholic." Chevy Chase View = Holy Redeemer / GV-GP. Tiny (!) parts of the Village = Blessed Sacrament / Columbia CC party line voters.

The map will show you that you're wrong about Bethesda, tho.

Yes, the map certainly doesn't show red in Bethesda - but we know some of those Rs who live there and they are consistent!

Ok now I understand You don't actually have a grasp of the definition of the word "typical."

Exactly. There is a lot of misunderstanding and elitism on this board about who lives in MoCo outside of the close in areas.
