Sheridan is open 4 days a week, 3hrs per day for in-person instruction. K-4 in the morning and 5-8 in the afternoon. Students receive both synchronous and asynchronous instruction when home. Sheridan will go to full DL for 2 weeks after winter break and everyone will be tested prior to school reopening. The school has done a fabulous job.
St. John's Episcopal School in Olney is open, and has been September. Students can choose between in person or virtual. It is a K-8 school.

Bump.
Have any schools on this list changed in the last week? Are any schools with hybrid/in-person planning to go virtual for the weeks surrounding the holidays? Any schools preparing currently in virtual planning to implement a hybrid schedule in January (similar to MCPS plan)? |
Beauvoir going remote between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plans to reopen Jan 5 if all is safe.
Do Barrie and Green Acres have hybrid options, or have they been all virtual?
CES full time in person -kindergarten, hybrid 2 days in person -lower school. Will reopen in full in January
Bvr asked families about our travel plans for Christmas to see how many families would need to quarantine in Jan. I hope they are smart and stay closed 1-2 weeks past Jan 4.
MSNV asks families to stay home for 14 days post travel. They’ve also announced the first week back in January will be remote.
I wonder if schools that had planned to re-open in January will now remain closed (virtual) due to the rising numbers.
If people don’t travel and if those who do, who will be the minority, self quarantine I see no reason for Beauvoir to delay reopening. If you have concerns no one is forcing you to send your child to school you can certainly do the remote option. But those of us who have been responsible and he’ll what our children in school should be able to do so just as we have been the past few months without incident |
Lowell is listed here but grades 1-3 are fully remote and haven't yet spent a day on campus. Only K, 4, 5 are back in person since mid Oct. They spent all summer and early fall talking about how it was a priority to bring back the youngest kids. And then it turned out they couldn't get enough teachers on campus to do it. While the remote learning has been really good, they have only had the kids on campus a few times since September for an hour each time. Not what I expect for $40K.
GDS required signed statements affirming adherence to DC regulations following Thanksgiving but will be open through Winter Break. They will do a week of remote and an extended holiday around inauguration day to allow families that travel to pass 14 days in quarantine before returning to in-person. All plans subject to change.
BISW is in person 5 days/week for elementary, pick up at 2.20
Rochambeau brought 4th and 5th graders back last week and this week. I think at this point, all maternelle (age 2-K) and elem. grades are back.
If you’re a parent at Lowell, you know exactly why those grades are remote. They are doing the best they can. If you’re angry, you can go elsewhere, but why denigrate them on a public board? I get being frustrated, but maybe focus on “remote learning has been really good.” Many places can’t say that, and many more aren’t on campus. |
