My husband and I are looking at PK for our DC and we want to see what schools have made a significant effort to reopen.

In particular, I'd like to know how many days kids are attending in person and which precautions are being taken. Feel free to add schools to the list as I'm sure I missed some.

What state or area are you looking in? Are you open to DC, MD, and VA? There are suggestions here from all over, so you might get the most helpful information if you specify.

How many of them are hiding Covid outbreaks? I’d bet half.

Same with St. Patrick’s. It’s an Episcopalian school.

OP here. We are in D.C. but are open to MD and DC as we will likely move to MD or Shepherd Park some time next year. Honestly, this was intended be a resource for everyone, not just our kiddo.

If you're looking at Shepherd Park, Lowell is in the neighborhood.

Oh please. All of the more expensive schools (not catholic or montessori) are regularly testing, so no, they aren’t hiding a covid outbreak.

This; My kids go to SSSAS. The school tested every student, faculty and staff member a few weeks ago and now does random antigen sampling every week. So far very good.

What does "very good" mean? How many positive tests in the school? Three? Five? Fifteen?

My kid's DC area private school is reporting to parents seven positive tests in the past month so far, and it's still going forward with reopening. I'm betting other schools have similar numbers.

According to the dashboard, the initial tests, which discovered 3 positives, I only know of 2. So that is five total but only 2 since the ES opened full time (with only one of those being at the ES).

I know people really REALLY want to be able to say “I told you so” to justify whatever position they have taken. But for a school population of around 1,500, to have 3 positives from across campus testing and then only 2 more once the entire ES was full time, MS and HS at 50%, yeah I say that’s more than “very good”.

Sorry if that bothers your theories.
