Yes. I forget her name. I saw him talk about it on Oprah and he still got choked up.

Dyana Hyland, she was in a movie with him in the 70s. She died at 41.

Yes, I mentioned earlier that I thought Travolta's and Swayze's preferences were an open secret in Hollywood.

Disbelieving. How could there be a link?

I don't think the link is age per se. The problem is to have a kid that late in life, you probably have to undergo a lot of medical intervention.

It actually is both: age and hormones.

Pregnancy gives your body a break for 10 months (plus breastfeeding). Google it.

The articles also indicate that ivf treatment includes a mammogram (presumably because of the link), so cancer is often detected earlier.

Pregnancy gives your body a break from what?

Hormone change.
growth hormones in the body due to pregnancy often accelerate cancer not inhibit it.

Gee I wonder why she kept it private. So much nastiness.

She had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse (she was engaged to Charlie Sheen) and didn't get sober until about 10 years ago after her last child was born. I'm sure that drug use until your late 40s does messed up things to your body.

Cocaine is a helluva drug.

Fair thought. I also wondered that about Elizabeth Edwards (former VP candidate’s wife) when she got virulent breast cancer following two pregnancies in her late 40s/early 50s.

Some studies should really be done on this to see if there's a link.

Yes, that association has been suspected for quite some time now.

- research scientist.

Swayze? I have never heard that about him before. Travolta, certainly.

What a horrible comment. What is wrong with you? It was clear he was deeply in love with his wife.

I’m sorry to hear of her passing, and admire their solid marriage, but nearly everyone knows that John is gay, so it’s a little disingenuous to say he was deeply in live with his wife (in a romantic sense).

He could be bisexual

+1 I think this is likely, but regardless it's clear she was the best friend and partner of his life. Like Hugh Jackman's wife.

I was sorry to read this, always thought she was so pretty and charming. Recently watched Space Camp with my family--she was in it, along with a young Joachin Phoenix. Reminded me how lovely she was.

Patients are required to have a recent (no more than either 6 or 12 months ago) mammogram prior to starting an IVF cycle, because any breast cancer already present would be fed by the fertility drugs used, as well as the extra estrogen during pregnancy, should the patient successfully conceive, and treating the patient’s cancer during pregnancy would be harmful to the fetus. Although IVF may increase the odds of developing breast cancer, the required mammogram is to make sure there is no breast cancer prior to starting IVF, not to see if IVF caused breast cancer.

Remember the whole scandal with blackmail when their first son died years ago? I hope this process of grief is much more easier for them.

That’s risk data from late age of the mother at first pregnancy.

She had two birthed two other children earlier in life.

Pregnancies reduce exposure to ovarian hormones during the menstrual cycle, creating a protective effect against breast cancer in the longer term. There is a short term risk in pregnancy due to the growth of breast cells. The earlier a first pregnancy, the more the longer term protective effect outweighs that shorter term increased risk.

What do you know he may be pansexual or bi or whatever, since those days we've all moved on with the idea that gender or identity is fixed, it most certainly doesn't mean he wasn't in love with her regardless!
