Or, it is none of the team managers business. There are few conversations I need to have with the coach but when there is a need to have a conversation with a coach it is none of the team managers business.

then walk up to the coach and have the conversation

Perhaps I can't due to a time commitment, perhaps the coach can't because of a back to back session. Perhaps I don't want to talk in front of my kid or other kids. Perhaps my wanting to talk with the coach is just none of your business and I don't feel like going through a team manager to talk to someone who I am paying.

get over yourself. send him an email.

or have enough balls to talk to him/her face to face.

Im a DC united fan but do I feel like I am owed a face to face with Olson because Im "paying his salary"? So dumb.

So, your reason for a coach to not provide their phone number in TeamSnap is because “email”. So no real practical reason. Just, waste time with email. Everyone else provides their phone number yet the coach doesn’t, because why?

The reason is 100% so people like you can't harass me 24/7 with texts and calls with issues that can be easily handled via email when I have time to respond, or in 10-15 minutes at the field after practice/game. If you want to talk, send an email and we can sort it out that way or we can set up a time to speak face to face.

Coaches prefer email so they can pretend they never received it. Even the most simple questions get dodged..

The approach in person and ask for a few minutes of their time, either right then or set up a time to talk.

Or find a club where coaches provide their phone numbers. That should be the first question you ask.

Wow, look at how a youth coach makes you all scared.

Just put the damn number in TeamSnap like everyone else. Problem solved.

It's not the coach's problem though. It's your problem. You're the one who needs to figure out how to solve it, not the coach.

Well this got out of hand, coaches numbers can be found on the recruiting brochure or on the email signature.

Those hurdles are probably too big for the PP who is struggling with the issue to overcome though.

No this is the type of nonsense U9-U14 coaches pull. Just put your damn number in TeamSnap. Why should anyone on the team have to ask for it?

It is just dumb when coaches do that.

My DD has been on 3 different travel teams. Each time, the coach share his email & phone number with everyone on TeamConnect, or TeamSnap.

Don't give up! You can figure out a way to find that dumb coach's number! Then you can tell him/her how dumb they are.

Or switch to a club where the coach lists his/her number in Teamsnap if you're too lazy or dumb to send an email or too scared to approach in person. I doubt the club you leave will miss you.

It’s just so abusive and oppressive that coaches won’t be available on their phone anytime we want. What kind of world is this? How will we ever survive without instant and constant access. Especially as they abuse our kids by letting them play together when there are so many things going on in the world. Oh the humanity.

Coach Here -

I think it's up to the coach's personal preference. Personally I put a phone number in TeamSnap for my team if they really need to reach me for some reason.

In over a decade of coaching I've only had one parent abuse it and it was quickly dealt with.

That being said, I only coach one team at a time, and don't use my personal phone for much and rarely get any calls. I could easily see a coach with multiple teams or with a job that requires heavy phone use, not wanting to broadcast their number.

It is none of those. It is just dumb that coaches don’t provide the information. It is laughable that they believe their phone will be ringing off the hook if they provide. Well, if you suck at coaching it might but other than that the coach just isn’t that special, they just think they are. Such celebrity the youth coach is. Email first or speak to the team manager before we talk about little Timmy.

It isn’t necessary but it is laughable and arrogant.

The point is, is should be the coaches choice, not the parents.

Not really. When I fill out TeamSnap I put in all my contact info. The celebrity a youth coach believes themselves to be is funny. They don’t have to provide it but they just look like a tool when they do. They might just as well talk about themselves in the third person too.

Oh well. Guess you'll just have to figure out a way to deal with all these tools who aren't providing you their number in Teamsnap.
