Yes, I laugh at it. I just feel so blessed to be in their very presence and that holds me through the hard times. When coach even talks to me after a game, I’m just on cloud nine it is such a religious experience. |
| how dare a part time employee making virtually nothing not provide their personal cellphone number so that they can respond to customers at all times of the day |
And that's how it should be. Bend the knee to the almighty and all-powerful celebrity youth coach. |
Bud, I know you're all out of sorts because you cannot treat them like your maids, but you are going to need to get over it and probably treat everybody you know a little better. |
Imagine being a part-time employee and believing you are soooo important that your phone will be ringing off the hook at all times of the day because the number is in TeamSnap. LOL!!! Oh the self importance. What is even funnier when they don’t actually get called at all times of the day if ever beyond a text that a player is running late to a game or practice. |
Coach here again, While it hasn't happened to me, I have had other coaches get the crazy parent(s) who texts at odd hours of the day and has called / created endless emails over silly issues. Usually it gets resolved eventually - but it can be hell for a while. I could see a coach going through that and deciding in the future that it's just not worth it. You can text via TeamSnap without making your number public... It's not about self importance. If that's your experience with coaches I'm sorry. |
I know, I get it. Personally, my phone has never blown up with ridiculous TeamSnap messages at all hours. I can't possibly relate to getting a TeamSnap notification 2 hours before practice that the time has changed to a different field and a earlier time. Or messages about Johnny leaving his cleat at the field and did anyone pick it up. I just can't imagine the struggle. |
This is a non sequitur - if you can just send me your phone number, I can text you the explanation. Oh wait a minute. I don't need a phone to do that. GTFOH. |
Awwww, poor baby, would you like a zoom call with that? |
| The worst is when you get the team manager who thinks she's above every parent. All things go thru her. She gets very nervous anytime a parent speaks directly to the coach. Looks totally trashy standing out in the middle of the field talking to coaches at training and sits on the bench with the team at games. |
Poor baby coach can't provide the number up front. Soooo many calls at all hours of the day..... Clearly the coaches are triggered. But lets be honest, you don't provide the number because your wife doesn't like you talking or texting with the soccer moms at all hours. Just tell her your talking to Jake from State Farm next time. |
Yup, and the team manager is here representing and protecting the coaches honor as well. If a parent could talk to the coach then how much power does the team manager have after all? |
| Both my DD's coaches numbers are listed in Teamsnap, as well as their emails. I've had a handful of conversations with them over the years and they both seem friendly/approachable, but I have never had a reason to email or text/call them. Even if I did email/call/text they could still ignore or forget to respond, so I would still probably try to catch them in person after practice or a game if it were something that my DD could not discuss with them herself. |
The world didn't end for the coaches with their phone number listed? Crazy if true. |
Not as insane as the world not ending for all of us without access to coach numbers. How on earth did we ever make it? What did they do before cell phones and email? Maybe shut their mouths and learned something about the sport? Perhaps even teachers got to teach instead of listening to parents lobby for retests and extensions for their laggard kids. We're all better off with a little privacy, especially with this crowd. |
