Parents are lying about medical conditions, so kids don’t have to wear masks.

A shield does not do the same thing. Documented asd would be a medical condition for a exemption but parent diagnosed sensory is not. Plenty of time to find a comfortable one.

Reality is the parents who are doing it aren't nor have ever social distanced and those kids will get it and share it. The only way to stop this is to DL a few months for the school year. Masks are a joke as most are just a piece of fabric and just for show. So, I personally don't care either way.

This angers me. My child has asthma and allergies. In the falls, sometimes he needs the nebulizer around the clock. He will wear a mask to school. I will get a doctors note that he be excused from class to find an area to safely get some fresh air. It's not as severe as it used to be, but if he is having a hard time wearing a mask all day, we will work with the doctor and the school to figure out a safe solution. Parents making up excuses is ridiculous.

Actually they are not. In fact, I believe teachers will be able to use them instead of masks because otherwise it will be difficult for the child to hear the teacher.

Kids have to learn to do hard things. My 6yo can wear a mask without complaint if we're out on a long hike. That's different than an entire day, I get it, but the health and safety of others is more important than her momentary discomfort.

I have asthma and can run in a mask. There are very, VERY limited circumstances where someone cannot due to a "breathing problem."

Now if you had an autistic child or someone who had other diagnosed medical conditions that made it challenging, that is an entirely different scenario.

Depending on the mask, there are some difficult to breathe. But, you can just do one piece of thin cotton to be in compliance and most people can breathe out of that. The problem is that does nothing to protect you or your child but humor others.

I don't have an issue with people not wearing mask with health issues. I have health issues but its really a non-issue as I rarely leave the house. On CNN someone was claiming health issues at Starbucks. No way I'd go in a Starbucks with health issues. At best I go grocery shopping once a week and and to get medication I cannot get online.
