Parents are lying about medical conditions, so kids don’t have to wear masks.

I looked up asthma and it’s only moderate to severe asthma that makes one higher risk for covid. This woman definitely doesn’t have moderate or severe asthma. Lol!

False equivalency. A student not wearing a mask endangers those around them for the sake of convenience. Teachers not wanting to teach face to face doesn't endanger anyone and is not for the sake of convenience, but to protect their health and maybe their lives.

I will get a doctors note that he be excused from class to find an area to safely get some fresh air. It's not as severe as it used to be, but if he is having a hard time wearing a mask all day, we will work with the doctor and the school to figure out a safe solution. Parents making up excuses is ridiculous.

Amen

+1. LCPS said that students not wearing a mask need a note from a licensed medical professional not to wear one, all ages.

I think schools should say: If your child has a medical condition that prohibits wearing a mask, your child's medical condition clearly should keep him home. Enjoy the distance learning.

You're a jerk. My kids are absolutely going to wear masks and they can. But many people with autism and other disabilities truly can't due to sensory issues. My BIL, who is an adult with ASD, is struggling with this tremendously. He's going to wear a face shield when he returns to work, but the reason he can tolerate it with practice is in part because he's a grown man. Are you saying all kids with genuine disabilities that would prevent them from wearing a mask at school should stay home? Aren't those some of the kids who need in person services most?

I am a parent of a child with ASD and serious sensory issues. Ds hates wearing a mask. But the reality is that if he can’t handle wearing a mask he can’t be in person at a school right now. In person is going to require all that teachers have and I will not endanger that if he can do DL. Even when DL is inferior. I am sorry about your brother but he should find a position where he can work from home right now. That is what my coolant is doing. It sucks but this whole thing sucks. Sorry.

Masks are all that are between us and the abyss. I wish things were better but they are not.

All that my *company* is doing. Geez given how much tech companies are worth you’d think they could build a better spell checker. But it is on me to proofread, alas.
