Is your club starting back up too?

How in the world does your friend who lives in Potomac know exactly what all the other Potomac residents does on a daily basis? If he/she is able to, the FBI, CIA, NSA and other intelligence agencies would love to have him/her on their staff.

As a side note, Coachup has many trainers that are not club coaches.

I laugh at the notion that "By law, (soccer association) coaches are not allowed to conduct private lessons with their players outside the club"

I live in Potomac and we have horse farm there. I see tennis coaches go there and give lessons to kids who live in that community. Tennis coaches are not supposed to give private lessons outside the club where they teach during the pandemic, but I can assure that everyone is looking the other way. The coaches need to make a living too.

My sister lives in Great Falls and her kids are also training with other kids and multiple coaches of their clubs in her BIG back yard just about everyday ever since the lock down started. The coaches said to me that their clubs know about and is understanding about this because coaches need income to survive during the pandemic.

Horse farm? haha. This is a soccer thread not a TENNIS thread. I guess you don't understand how soccer works, besides Coaches in top clubs are still getting paid. I am not getting my money back for the season. Decent and well respected Clubs are paying their coaches for sure.

I have a big back yard as well and my kids train on Zoom with their coaches and then on their own. They don' need anyone to come over and do what they already know how to do and are discipline enough to do it on their own.

Be careful. Another poster indicated that the have-not kids that can’t afford private training will be behind. Hence, you better get trainers for your kids. LOL

You're right, little Johnny can't be behind. He needs to continue aiming for the top team. Let me get a coach/training so he can show him how to do footskills correctly... and have him do some laps around the backyard. Of course, keeping some Social Distance and wearing a mask.

You're missing the point. The point is that coaches from well respected club are also doing private coaching for wealthy clients. For many of these coaches, coaching is probably not their primary income. They might have been layoff from their primary job and they need additional income to support their families.

FWIW, there are many coaches and kids from Virginia that travel to Maryland public park to train everyday during the pandemic. The most obvious example is the open field right across the Congressional Country Club. The parking lot for the park is closed but one can park on the side road and walk to the field.

Both Mclean and Langley HS football field and track are opened today. My kid and his coach will be out there for his private lessons starting tomorrow.

I don’t believe any parks in MoCo are open. But while all public schools and school grounds are closed, I noticed many kids and trainers/coaches at Julius West Middle School turf fields doing private soccer training.

+1 I too noticed that many soccer coaches from well respected clubs doing private soccer training at Robert Frost Middle School in Rockville for the past two months at the beginning of the lock down. That field has always been opened throughout the lock down.
