That poster can’t list anything, because Northam is all talk and no teeth. |
33 years and 2 months. And I had the pleasure to chat in person with three governors. |
To start with, he banned state employee travel and large meetings, implemented increased telework, expanded testing criteria for nursing homes (which is part of what caused the spike in Virginia cases, finding sick people who otherwise would have been overlooked), put price gouging measures into effect, and petitioned for (and then got) orders blocking evictions and utility disconnects during the pandemic. |
| Hogan is an example of good leadership. |
Hm so aside from banning state employee travel and large meetings (which clearly is a tiny subset of the entire STATE) he hasn't done anything to contain or curb the spreading of the virus. He's only put measures in place to manage it once it's arrived and disrupted the daily lives of his constituents. Sounds like he's inviting virus cases to VA. And his plan is effective. VA still has the largest number of cases in the DMV. Congratulations! |
You don’t think increased homelessness would contribute to the spread? You don’t think testing nursing home residents is important for containing it? |
I don't say this lightly, but...you cannot be this dense. Perhaps if he made efforts to curb or contain the virus now then increased homelessness wouldn't be an issue. It makes no sense to try and start managing a problem before it even exists! Increased homelessness isn't here yet, but the virus is. And no, I don't think testing nursing home residents is more important than keeping the rest of the active population from spreading it to each other. I'm not worried that there are that many active nursing home residents out and about on a daily basis infecting others to the extent that everyone else would be. |
| I'm pretty pissed that Northam hasn't closed shit down. I'm DOUBLE pissed at Fairfax County - this is quite possibly the worst place to live in the entire country right now. |
| I don't care about Northam. Why aren't the counties doing anything? Looking at you Arlington and Fairfax. Get all those bros out of Arlington bars stat. |
| Drive up testing now gonna be in Arlington, bros. |
| The counties don’t have the legal authority to do blanket closures. It has to come from Northam. |
This. Just heard some clip of Northam answering question whether National Guard would be called to help. The guy has that pathetic drawl and I swear talks out of his a$$ — all word salad and no freakin direct answers. Clown. |
| Former Gov McAuliffe was interviewed this morning on WTOP and said he would shut restaurants down. Oh snap! |
| At this point DC and MD need to close their borders to VA or just shut VA down themselves. It's appalling that VA has the most cases and hasn't done much more than ask restaurants, theaters and gyms to voluntarily restrict capacity to 10 patrons. Barely any of the restaurants, gyms or bars are complying. They're basically doing nothing but contributing to the spread! It's unreal. |
Virginia has 40% more people than Maryland and, as of yesterday, about 17-18% more reported cases. I'm not sure what you think you are accomplishing here. |
