Virginians — Why aren’t you mad as hell at Governor Northam?

This. I’m from VA and just traveled extensively through southeastern VA last weekend—lots of people were still out.

This. Too many people listening to Fox, and not noting the change in course.

Certain cities are starting to act in southeast VA, but not all of them.

What the hell? So Northam basically has still done nothing but recommend that restaurants and bars only offer takeout/delivery? He hasn't closed anything else or instituted bans on gatherings? His state has the most cases in the DMV right now and this idiot isn't doing anything about it, but issuing a soft warning. WOW. I would be pissed if I lived in VA still.

Well I’m kind of annoyed now at what he just did this afternoon.

Also, in about three/four weeks, people will be starving in some areas and there will civil unrest.

Wow, such idiocy. I thought all Republicans thought the virus panic was overblown and a left-wing hoax to sink the roaring Trump Economy? Which is it? Why would Republicans want schools to close in that case?

FYI, Maryland Dems are PRAISING Republican Governor Larry Hogan for his decisive leadership. Go to those MD school forums — they praise him! I read those because my DC attends school which follows MCPS. Some posters there don’t let their ignorant stereotypes of their political opponents blind them to fair assessments.

Dude. Republicans JAIL CHILDREN IN CAGES. Republicans are anti-children.

"It's everybody's responsibility to use common sense at time." Gee thanks. Now do your job and protect those of us who are going to get screwed by those who refuse to exercise common sense.

Here is where constituents (and others) can send a message to his office.

Northam just tweeted that restaurants, fitness centers, and theaters must reduce their capacity to 10 patrons, or close.

Clearly you don’t live in Virginia, because that was far from all he’d done at the time of your post. But do go on showing your ass.

DP. Please list what he has done, other than finally closing schools. TIA

Well I’m a different poster that does live in VA and think Northam is a poor leader who is not making good decisions for the people in the Commonwealth.

He should have shut non essential places down. We don’t even have enough tests and he’s not implementing measures that could save lives.

He’s corrupt, what he’s doing is negligent. ( and sadly I voted for him)

I live in DC, but used to live in VA. If I was still in VA I would almost hope that this man would get criminally prosecuted after this. His state has the single most cases in the DMV, the other states have already announced enforceable guidelines, and he's over here twiddling his thumbs and makin suggestions about what people should do instead of telling them what they HAVE to do. We should just close our borders to VA if he's going to act this reckless.

WTH

Virginia has lame leadership in all key areas — Governor and seat-warmers Sens Warner and Kaine. They are ALL do-nothings, and now in time of crisis it really matters.
