Wait - MU has 9 players ages 07 or younger playing U14 right now? Isn’t that more than any other club around? How does this hurt them for next year?
Take those 9 and put them at U14 again. That a nice problem to have. |
The potential problem is in having enough 06s for the U15s. Maybe the partner clubs will change that. The other problem is having enough 07 for U14. Then the 08s can form the U13 team. That would be a good team if it's allowed to be without having players pulled up. |
Lol. Keep trying. |
At what? This is the fear of GFR parents. This is the fear of other other parents in those young age groups. It's a potential problem that no one can deny. However, I for one hope the partner clubs can help with those gaps. MU can be a great club. It has all the right pieces. It needs quality players to participate to make it work. |
He is only listed as an assistant coach. |
GFR 09 parents don’t have much to fear. Just sayin. |
The GFR 08 and 09 teams are good, both of them. That's WHY it is important for MU to form an 06 team of 06s and an 07 team of 07s. I think they can, I hope they can, and they have broader than just GFR to pull from. MU is picking up players from other area clubs too. But it is the potential problem. Example: this year, in part due to injuries, the U19s were light, which pulled up U17s, which pulled up U16s, which pulled up U15s. The U19s may have a better spring. But that's how it trickles down. So the best thing for the 09s is to fill in the 06 and 07 teams with 06s and 07s. |
Maybe fear what happens when their DDs don't have the screaming lady coach anymore? Will they get better or not when not joysticked.... |
I live right by GFR and have an 07 playing on an ECNL team. Went to tryouts and was told she should “play up” on 06 DA team. I saw all the tiny kids at tryouts and knew this was going to end up being a disaster. We drive past MU 3 times a week so she can play on a competitive team with kids her age. We were not interested in having her play with girls who were 4th-8th graders. |
Nice. I heard about FCV parents. So much fun to experience it firsthand. |
| For 09s Arlington is the #1 team in the state. GFR is #3 in VA. FCV is #28. FCV parents should be the ones in fear. |
Sounds like MU dodged a bullet with you. |
I get it, and for this year, that was a smart move. But I think you should take another look this spring and see if, with all the new interest, partner clubs, and other positives with the club, the situation might be better for next year's teams. |
| I think I read somewhere tryouts are tonight. If Bobby Pup is still involved I would expect extremely low turnout. |
| you think they will have try outs in this cold weather? |
