If worse comes to worse: you both pick one names of of each other's lists and put the names in a hat and pick one. Pick one that you can turn into a nickname you don't hate. I think I'd go for Zephyr - Zeph.

Zephyr could easily be a ziggy

I had an awesome (smart, cute, nice) Thor in my class years ago. I love this suggestion!

I actually really like Ulysses. Seems classic because of the president.

There’s a Sebastian in my kids class but he goes by Bazzy. Weird enough for DH maybe?

Pull up the list of the top 1000 names from the Social Security Administration. You each have to, HAVE TO, independently select 200 names you can live with. Whatever names are on both lists make up your short list. There will be at least ONE on both of your lists, and more likely more.

No one is getting a name from their top 10 list, you both need at accept that. It’s compromise time.

Teddy is a nickname for Edward.

These names are all about calling attention to himself and his superior cleverness, rather than giving a human a name he will keep for the next 100 years. It’s about as bad as Michael Jackson’s naming choices (Prince Michael I and Prince Michael II known as Blanket).

He sounds like a hipster twatwaffle

Completely agree. He sounds insufferable.

Name your son Michael.

Teddy is a nickname for Edward.

And also, rather famously, a nickname for Theodore.

Teddy is a nickname for Edward.

As a Theodore that goes by Ted, I'v e always called Edwards that go by Ted to be fake Teds. Ed/Eddie are the proper nicknames for Edwards.

We’ve exhausted every baby name book and website. Help us.

My list:
Benjamin
Sebastian
Michael
Reece
Connor
Elijah
William/Liam
Arthur
Brandon
Peter

His list:
Zephyr
Icarus
Ignatius
Atlas
Orion
Constantine
Wolfgang
Ulysses
Odysseus
Casimir

Yeah. You can see the issue. I even offered to settle for a name I don’t like as much and told him he had free reign of middle name but he said nope.

Any suggestions?

Your husband wants to set up your child for endless teasing at school. Most of those names guarantee it.
You can easily tell that your husband wants to impress someone with his list of interest that is
Greek Mythology
World History
Astronomy
and Classical Music

There is more then meets the eye, looking at your names and his one could easily fall under the impression that
he is on a Autism Spectrum aka Aspergers wheras you are Neurotypical. More trouble ahead. Buckle up.
