| Michael Constantine. I could live with that. |
| You two had months to come to an agreement but neither of you budged to come to a compromise. Neither of you deserve to be married. |
| Leopold |
+2 and your DH has horrible horrible picks. If feel for you, op. Pray Ulysses is on his short list. Zephyr?! Poor kid. |
| Call him Constantine and nickname him Connor. Both start with Con at least - that seems to be the most similarities! |
| Is your DH into video games?! |
I know a super cute Wolf (Wolfie), so Wolfgang isn't terrible (plus it's very common in Germany). |
| Worst name list ever |
| Try a top 25 or 50 for each of you rather than a top 10. Eventually you have to discover a match. Or if he’s that concerned about popularity, pull out the SS list and start with #300 (or #500, or whatever). Then each of you independently go through and circle all the names you could live with. |
These are great. Leopold, maximilian Also Magnus, Evander (evan), A bit of weird and normal? |
| Yep, I hate all his names. |
| Dh and I had the same issue. He liked top 10 names. I liked names around 100. Named our kid the top 10 name. It sucks. I never feel like the name is special. He goes by a nickname we both agreed on. |

I actually could live with Ignatius IF I knew the kid was going to be brawny and “cool”. If he’s likely to be scrawny and dorky, Iggy will be a terrible name.
But I’d go with Constantine and call him Dino. His list is terrible. |
+100, I’m guessing he also wears a newsboy cap and has fanciful facial hair. Trendy nonsense. |

How about naming the child Constantine with the nickname Connor. That fits both of your lists. Your DH can call him Constantine if he wants, but I guarantee you that if you call him Connor at drop off, by the time he gets to kindergarten age, everyone, including the child will be using Connor and not Constantine.
I know friends who had a similar problem. Mother wanted a very common name. Father wanted a more unique name. Mother got the first name and father got the middle name. Father and a few of his friends are the only ones who use the middle name. That said, when they second kid was born, they flipped and father got the more unique first name and mother got the more popular middle name. Both kids go by their first names. |
