It's only ridiculous until you experience it yourself. I have known people who feel exactly as you do and then they have an experience and it freaks them out. To me, it's even more ridiculous to be so close minded. |

This isn't really a ghost story, but it's weird and I would love to know if anyone can offer a logical explanation for it.
About six months after my grandmother died, my sister went to visit her grave. She couldn't remember exactly where in the cemetery it was, but she knew the general area. When she got in the general vicinity, she picked up on the smell of my grandmothers house and followed it to my grandmother's gravesite. I for the life of me, can't figure out how this could happen. Is it actually possible that her smell (which would be the smell of her house), seeped into the ground and gives off enough of a scent that it could be picked up on six months after being buried? |
| Ok, so why is it that ghosts are always seen wearing clothes? I mean what why would ghosts need clothing? |

I used to be like you. But I have had too many weird experiences to ignore. Not ghosts specifically so, that’s for another thread. It can be true that there are things we are ignorant of, or lack the ability to perceive. |

Considering the amount of drugs going on, street or prescription and how much of this stuff affect neurowiring the true question is:
why many people do not see them all the time?
|
| Aside from alcohol what other popularly used substances has a potential to cause hallucinations?.. |
| Ignore the troll |
| What if.. what if it is us who is ghosts and they are real and every time they see us they go... holy smoke I just saw a ghost!!!! But we don't see them most of the time because we are ghosts! |
Yeah, ignore yourself. |

This happened to me in college and I could never find an explanation for it. Totally true and as a scientist who has seen lots of new measurements become possible even during the course of my career that there are a lot more things in our world that are happening that we just haven't found a way to measure or understand, so they get written off as make believe.
My room was on an upper floor in an old mansion that had been converted into a dorm, and I was right under the attic. Most people kept their suitcases and trunks up there to save space in their rooms. One neighbor led an academic organization who came to our campus for weekend meetings every few months and it was a small college and a small town, so i always wondered where she kept them, but then realized they were in the attic because I heard them pushing everything around up there to make space for sleeping bags. Fast forward a few months to when my friend (who also lived on that floor) and I had come home from a night out and wanted to sleep, but the visitors, who we'd seen in the dining hall earlier for dinner before we went out, were still up in the attic making a racket at a ridiculous hour. We were mad because we were wondering how the hell they still had so much to rearrange up there after they'd already been there for a visit - it's not like people were regularly using their luggage and packing boxes, so why did they need to keep dragging everything across the wooden floor so that it was scraping and screeching like that?? So we gave it a few minutes in case they'd just gotten in too, then we decided to go ask them to quiet down a bit, or at least lift heavy things instead of pushing them so they scraped and echoed so much. We got to the top of the stairs and pushed open the door, and the sound stopped immediately. It was dark and there was no one in there. We turned the light on to check and the hair was standing up on my arms. We just looked around in disbelief because it was a plain square room with boxes and luggage here and there, closed windows, and definitely nothing big enough for someone to hide behind. So we shut the door and ran back down the stairs, both a little freaked out but also in disbelief. There wasn't another sound that night. It occurred to us though that with the acoustics of old wood, we hadn't heard any footsteps - just the things scraping around the floor. Another month or so later, and it was another weekend. My next door neighbor and her friends were in her room getting ready to go out and the screeching and scraping above us started again. My friend and I were hanging out and looked at each other when we heard the other group getting more and more annoyed with it and decide to go up and tell them off... and then they ran down the stairs screaming a minute later. I think they were already a little drunk and never said anything to us about it. The last time I heard it was again on a weekend, but I had stayed behind because I had agreed to take a shift at work for someone the next day and had to sleep. The dragging and scraping was awful - like SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECHHHHH - dragging something way heavier than a suitcase across there even though there wasn't really anything that heavy being stored up there. It was unnerving to think about why it was happening and what it could be. So then I prayed about it for awhile and felt calmer, but then I started to think that if it was part of someone's personality or memories, or maybe even their whole self stuck here for some reason because they were too sad or hurt, or too afraid to move on, that I sort of thought about what if there was any extra in me that could be offered to them if it could help in any way. Like any extra hope or love or courage, if I *could* share it that I'd be willing to... and the sound stopped. It was completely quiet after that. I don't know why it happened or why it stopped, but I'll never forget it. I've told others about the scary part, but only ever told my closest people the last part before. I don't know if it was a ghost - I never saw anything - but I've never been able to explain it and I definitely wasn't the only one to experience it. |

Agree. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean that it's not real. |
