Relationship Question - traveling (NOT a travel question)

So many people being deliberately obtuse or just projecting.

I get it OP. I spent years as a conference planner, and many of our guests frequently brought families along. Spouse and kids would do their thing during conference meetings and dinners, and they would tack on extra days sometimes for all of them to spend time together. So it’s not odd to me that plenty of his coworkers take their families.

All that said, your DH clearly had dysfunctional role models as far as “family time” growing up. If he refuses to let you go, and also refuses to go on any other family vacation, then you should absolutely plan something for you and your kids and go without him. You work and make more money, and he isn’t interested, so he has no arguments to stop you. If you’re lucky, he’ll see he’s missing out. If not, I’m sorry for you, but at least you’ll be giving your kids happier memories and showing them that family vacations are a part of being a family. Good luck.
