DMV Preseason Rankings

The site omits nearly all DA teams (I saw 1), and the note on the side mentions need to update for NPL, ECNL games. Looks like the person is just not putting in DA results/scores or tracking them.

All the sites are arbitrary. TDS doesn't have pipeline listed in the top 25 at all at any age group that I saw. But TDS also lists FCV lower than teams they have beat more than once. Again, I believe all are speculation based on results only, and limited at that.

Considering Baltimor Armour sits above SAC and Pipeline, and in all likelihood has taken the best players that both SAC and Pipeline have to play in DA it is obvious that Pipeline is Armour's B1 team and is exaclty why the GotSoccer rankings are silly at this point. Pipeline isn't even the best team within its own partnership structure.

Where’s FCV? This list is stupid.

I was the Pipeline poster and am not a parent but have watched Pipeline teams in multiple age groups. I never mentioned gotsoccer as I am involved enough to know the landscape and that gotsoccer does not reflect the competition level of ECNL/DA teams.

That being said, those trying to make counter arguments just expose why parents here really haven't a clue. Anyone who has an ECNL that has played Pipeline knows how strong the club is especially at 05. I don't believe that of the half dozen ECNL/DA teams that Pipeline has played, it has lost a game and those include victories over teams going to the ECNL nationals. Every self-respecting elite coach in the area will acknowledge that Pipeline is playing on a different level. Outside of FCV DA and maybe the revised Bethesda ECNL, no other local team is likely to get placed in the same bracket as Pipeline at a serious tournament.

I have kids that played in both ECNL and EDP and I would argue that the top half of the top EDP league is just competitive as the top half of the ECNL NE conference.

I really think you folks need to take off your ECNL/DA blinders. Both leagues are strong but there are teams in EDP that are talented enough to play in ECNL or DA but do not. Also, Pipeline is now affiliated with the Boys/Girls DA.

This may come as a huge shock to you, but there is actually a whole world out there that doesn't revolve around your DD.

Maybe next time think about naming this thread "DMV Preseason Rankings For 03 Girls".

Thanks and have a Blessed day.

Thank you.

My first thought was “wtf?”.

They aren’t even the top team in their own pyramid. Armour is. Edp comparable to DA/ECNL. Stop.

Oh stop, there is a consistent Pipeline backer here with such a hard on for the team and an equal inferiority complex to boot. Pipeline is not even the best team in it's partnership structure. The best team in that pyramid is Armour DA. What you are saying is the equivalent of claiming Scranton/Wilkes-Barre are better than the Yankees. Pipeline is a FEEDER club. They ARE the B team. Scrimmage your own DA team and report back to us the results.

I previously posted that my DD is an 03 and hoped people from other age groups would chime in. Congrats on your post though. Really nice.

THe following are the results against ECNL teams that I could pick out. Feel free to add more if I've missed any.

World Class (2nd in division) won 2-0
McLean (2nd in Division) won 2-1
Loudoun Soccer (last in division) tied 1-1
Continental FC (6th out of 7 in division) won 3-1

A team playing on "another level" does not tie Loudoun. A team playing on another level does not merely win 2-1 against a second place McLean. You said earlier that Pipeline was DESTROYING ECNL teams. Those are ho hum soccer scores. They are a solid EDP team that is a feeder club to a DA. If anything, their success is more of a blight against ECNL than it is high praise for Pipeline.

Arlington above VDA

Fair. FCV seemed to struggle in the Spring. My rankings would look like:

Girls ECNL/DA 06

1. VDA
2. Arlington
3. FCV
---------Seems to be rather marginal play below this...mostly losing records----------
4. Bethesda
5. BRYC
6. Loudoun
7. Maryland United
8. McLean
9. MU DA

You no.1 pick, VDA, is ranked no. 56 in Virginia according to gotsoccer. But whatever makes you feel happy...

You should be banned from this conversation for mentioning gotsoccer.

Yeah DA teams never play outside the DA but if they did then they would crush everyone, right?

No such assumption was made. The statement that Pipeline "Destroyed" ECNL teams is not actually backed up by lopsided scores. But a point of fact that Pipeline is a direct feeder club to their DA partner demonstrates where Pipeline falls in on the food chain within its own structure. Are you actually arguing that the Armour DA team is weaker than its feeder club team?

ECNL and DA will all be in San Diego. I still say have the final four DA teams and the final four ECNL teams battle it out for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.
