Update? |
It is REALLY strange how no one has been arrested or publicly charged for a murder. |
Why is there still no news on who killed this man? |
Because he isn’t a shade of brown. The same reason you never see a picture of a mass murderer until days later yet you see pictures of a brown person accused of a crime before it’s even confirmed. |
Interesting the difference between this thread and the Costco shooter. |
Yes, but its been weeks. We don't know his name, where he's from, how many attackers there were, no perp walk or lawyer's statement. It's disgusting. Meanwhile a gay couple was attacked on U Street this past weekend (a beating) and the perps were arrested in 24 hours and its front-page news. No one died there... |
You mean like the black VA beach shooter who was largely ignored by the media? |
Race has nothing to do with it. The media has come to understand that mass shooters are partly motivated by their desire to go out in a blaze of glory. The notoriety of these killers has propelled others to follow in their footsteps. News outlets have made a decision to deny them that notoriety. That's why news coverage of more recent mass shootings has focused on victims and avoided showing the killers' names and faces over and over. Smart decision by the media. |
There really isn’t an update? |
the fact that we need a word like "cisgender" is just.......smh |
Get back to your bridge, troll. This is about a man's murder, not your political agenda. |
As some of you may already know, he was assaulted outside his neighborhood restaurant/bar (across the street from his condo - think of Cheers for Bud) by a group of individuals at 11:30pm on Wednesday night. Apparently the altercation started inside with arguing but the assault happened outside. We talked to the police and they have the puzzle almost finished, all assailants have been identified and they are just collecting more evidence. We expect them to make arrest in the next few days.
So this was never followed trhough on |
Absolutely true. — long-time white person and District resident of 25 years |
I disagree that it's "strange." In fact it's completely typical when the suspect is going to be someone who has the means to fight back with the best defense attorneys and private investigators. You can be sure that law enforcement is crossing their /T/s and dotting /I/s, and making sure their evidence-collection procedures are constitutionally air-tight. |
PP again ^^. Also, the suspect(s) are not a violent threat to the public at large. This was a one-off, right? So there's not that reason to rush an investigation |
