Where are all you families of high performing students planning on moving to?

Extra cost of bussing kids around, earlier start times among others make it not realistic. Having said that, I wish MCPS spent its money to improve classroom education and reduce the class size rather than on outside counselor study on stuff like this. I think people should go to BOE meetings on this or at least send their comments online.

Might add that many of the current boundaries aren't anywhere near the schools they serve so some changes could reduce busing.

Yes. You must sell right now, BEFORE your property loses value (and the sky falls).

All of you coming to Frederick County, be aware there is massive redistricting going on here too. Also, we don’t want you anti-diversity people.

Sugarland, Texas.

What?? Why are you all not on here going crazy?? That fact makes me want to leave MoCo regardless of MCPS. But in reality (outside of DCUM), MoCo and MCPS are fine for us. We love our neighborhood and it works well for our jobs. DH has a very short commute and I take metro. Our kids are learning and doing fine.

We would love that. Heard that many many kids in that city are super smart.

Massachuttes. My daughter loves the colleges we have visited there and schools are awesome. You cannot beat summer programs at Harvard and MIT. Great schools too. I am not sacrificing our children for their diversity issues at MCPS.

Lived here at a teen. Be careful. Move to the right part or you will end up going through the same thing.

You all are jumping the gun and freaking out way too early. Relax. I'm anti-busing too but nowhere in the boundary study are they even mentioning that. Let's see what they do with the SEneca Valley boundary study. I think what they'll do there is telling of what they could do county wide.

But wouldn’t you want more high performing students? It will help increase your property values. ?

We’re heading to Frederick. Seems like the easiest move.

I’m late to the party. What’s this about bussing? We live in Chevy Chase. Are my kids going to be bussed somewhere instead of going to the high school right near where we live?
Anonymous
For us it will likely be DC since we both commute there anyway.
