Workin' Moms on Netflix

I’m having trouble with her lips and I’m trying so hard not to judge

I binged season 2, loved it. I actually like Kate. I like them all, really, except Jenny, and she's basically gone now anyway. I hate how the season ended as such as cliffhanger. I get that the message is she'll be fine whatever happens...but I want to know what happens!

I loved Season 2 as well! Can't wait for Season 3!

Why is Jenny all of a sudden out of the picture? I get that she gave up custody to Ian, but isn’t she still friends with the girls? She wasn’t even at Anne’s commitment ceremony.

Her lips are incredibly distracting. That’s a fact.

And the constant hookups with Frankie and other women is ridiculous.

The Frankie storylines were weird and didn’t fit with anything else.

Kate’s work and marriage struggles were aggravating—she can’t seem to do anything other than exactly what she wants to do.

The ending of season 2 surprised me.

+1
I think she finally realized that maybe she can’t keep doing exactly what she wants without considering how it affects her family life. That was a huge wake up call, IMO.

I think that's a shitty way to make her husband being an asshole POS to be her fault. She has a rough/bumpy and yes somewhat selfish period of like 6-8 months and her husband starts banging her best friend's barely adult nanny? I feel like that came out of nowhere.

Who did that?

Did she? She told him he gets every other weekend.

Same. I loved Season 1, but Season 2 really disappointed me. I didn't feel like Kate was acting like a selfish person at all! She wanted to find fulfilling work, and was dealing with the loss of her beloved father. Why she was painted as the villain was beyond me. I also really didn't like the Frankie storyline at all. Frankie was such an interesting character in Season 1, IMO. She became this goofy lesbian caricature now.

It did come out of nowhere, but that’s only because we see this all unfold from Kate’s perspective. She had no clue something was wrong in her marriage. Why? Because the only person she was focused on was Kate. Of course her husband is an asshole for cheating on her... but he was also the most understanding, patient, accommodating husband one could imagine and she totally took advantage of that. She was even all set to start traveling again when she accepted the new job - no talking it over with Nathan, no consideration whatsoever of how it might affect him or their child. And that was right after the nightmare experience she had in Montreal. She is blindsided by Nathan’s affair - because she is so completely self-absorbed.

Those of you who are disappointed with the affair storyline - how would you feel if their genders were reversed? If Nathan had the all-encompassing career drive and Kate was the ever-accommodating spouse, always supportive and encouraging of him while still trying to maintain her own career and raise their child. What if she finally got sick of holding everything together on all fronts while he was constantly searching for “self-fulfillment”? What if she was the one who cheated on him? Would you be more understanding in that case?

Um... no. Regardless of gender, if your frustration with your spouse's selfishness is to run out and have an affair before talking, going to therapy, etc., I have no sympathy. Nathan was the supportive and caring spouse for so long, you're right. So wouldn't it be out of character for him to then cheat on Kate? And with Anne's nanny of all people??? I'm sure stuff like that happens and nice spouses aren't always as nice as they seem, but as a narrative choice for this show it made zero sense.

I was shocked that he was cheating on her by he has endured a lot of selfishness in her part. He did express frustration several times and she still pursued her own wishes. She had just promised him to talk before any big career moved and then she accepted a client with significant traveling without even talking to him. Again, no excuses for his cheating but her behavior has been so selfish.
