She had just promised him to talk before any big career moved and then she accepted a client with significant traveling without even talking to him. Again, no excuses for his cheating but her behavior has been so selfish.

Totally agree.

And the constant hookups with Frankie and other women is ridiculous.

The Frankie storylines were weird and didn’t fit with anything else.

Kate’s work and marriage struggles were aggravating—she can’t seem to do anything other than exactly what she wants to do.

The ending of season 2 surprised me.

I think she finally realized that maybe she can’t keep doing exactly what she wants without considering how it affects her family life. That was a huge wake up call, IMO.

I think that's a shitty way to make her husband being an asshole POS to be her fault. She has a rough/bumpy and yes somewhat selfish period of like 6-8 months and her husband starts banging her best friend's barely adult nanny? I feel like that came out of nowhere.

It did come out of nowhere, but that’s only because we see this all unfold from Kate’s perspective. She had no clue something was wrong in her marriage. Why? Because the only person she was focused on was Kate. Of course her husband is an asshole for cheating on her... but he was also the most understanding, patient, accommodating husband one could imagine and she totally took advantage of that. She was even all set to start traveling again when she accepted the new job - no talking it over with Nathan, no consideration whatsoever of how it might affect him or their child. And that was right after the nightmare experience she had in Montreal. She is blindsided by Nathan’s affair - because she is so completely self-absorbed.

Can we get back to the issue of Kate’s lips - which like others I found incredibly distracting. Did anyone find a link to a reputable website or the supposed episode of Botched itself? It seems like info on this topic has been scrubbed and what remains is not the most credible. (Excuse my mini-obsession with this issue)

Just finished season 2. Love it.

Tbh, I was irritated with the lips too. But it really went away by like episode 3 of season 2. I stopped paying attention to them and actually really started to like the flawed Kate once I let the lips go. Hope others can too as she’s a really funny, empathetic actor.

I've tried, but cannot get past the lips. It gives her the most annoying expression.

Im fascinated by her lips. I actually think they are kind of cute.

I really want to love this show but just get annoyed by all the characters - they all seem soooo over the top. Is that the point? I don't find any of them at all relatable

It’s cute !

I agree, she's completely self-absorbed like the other pp mentions links to her being blindsided by the affair.

I liked this show until I thought more about it, and realized that it makes all the women unlikable (except for potentially Frankie's ex), and all the men deserve sympathy. It's like it's Jenny's ex's screenplay, where the only good guy is the SAHD.

Ugh. I keep thinking of the scene in the elevator when her boss actually imitated them - spot on.

I was sympathetic when I thought it was a birth defect. I was like "you go girl, follow your acting dreams!" I know I should still be sympathetic after reading it was elective surgery gone wrong, but it's harder.
