Boys Names

I love Benjamin, but it seems really common right now. Same with Luke. We're considering Peter, but there are a lot of (adult) Peters around us.

And, FWIW, I had a French friend named Sebastian. Everyone called him Seb. I think it's a great nickname and a fabulous name if you want something a little unusual--but that translates very well across cultures.

We considered Peter for our son who's now 18 months, but then realized that he might be teased with references to penis. Just something to keep in mind.

Please tell me this is a joke. Your poor child.

Luke is very popular but we love it and if our next is a boy we will likely name him Luke. Also love Jack (Jackson) but that is popular too.

It's funny, for our daughter, I was really trying to avoid a popular name. We ended up with a "normal" name that is not out there but is not on the top 100 either. For a boy, I don't care as much.

me too. But men in general don't seem to care if their names are common.

Op here, this confirms a lot of the names I like are on the list, but I just dont hear them in my neighborhood or school where I work. DS #1's name came up only once on this list & is supposedly popular but I've yet to meet another or hear the name on the playground. I do like Sebastian, Caleb, Luke/Lucas, and Charles/Charlie. I will go with what feels right & what I like best & will incorporate a family middle name, but was just curious about the names others hear a lot.

I know a lot of boys with the name Jack/Jackson or Ben

I like Vincent and Vince...they sound strong and masculine to me. But HATE Vinny/Vinnie.

Watch, there will be a run on the name Sebastian.

That's funny, I really like Sebastian and have considered using it for any future boy babies. Right now I have two sons whose names are really, really unusual and I thought Sebastian would maintain that trend.

There is a Sebastian at our daycare, he's about 2. He's the only Sebastian I know.

I think I know him. Same here, only one I know.
