Boys Names

Ditto everyone else. I hear multiple kids named Jack, Henry, Max, Ethan, and Mason. What's weird is I never seem to hear of the statistically popular names on little kids (like William, Michael or Christopher).

I have a Will and I do hear it occasionally, but certainly not as much as I thought I would for it being the #1 name in VA for several years running. VA is a pretty big state, though, so I guess a lot of those names might be being used in other parts of the state. Don't know about DC since William is #1 there, too.

I've met 4 little boys named William/Will in VA burbs.

Are there really that many Charlies? Obviously I know it's not a rare name but I have always thought of it as more of a constant classic than currently popular. Crap, I may have to rethink...

YES, so many! But all the Charlies I know are in my kids' age range (2-6) and I don't know any infant Charlies, so maybe it's on the decline?

I'm in NW DC and know 2 Charlie's under age 2. But about 6 little boys named Max and a ton of boys named John (but called Jack).

The reality is, in NW DC all boys are named about 20 different classic names. This used to bother me but now I really don't care. There's a reason these names are so popular and that's because they're great names. It's much easier to be more adventurous with girls' names because there are far more that are different without being trendee or weird.

I'm also expecting a boy, and we're naming him Sebastian. I'm glad it wasn't on any of those lists!

That's funny, I really like Sebastian and have considered using it for any future boy babies. Right now I have two sons whose names are really, really unusual and I thought Sebastian would maintain that trend.

I know of a Sebastian who is about 8 years old.

Many boys named Charlie, Max, Jack/Jackson, Quinn, Jacob/Jake, Liam...
