New Lake Braddock principal named

He's leaving two months before graduation. Wow--great way to support kids. He will come in and immediately try to divide and conquer. Over 40? Expect relentless observations, questions, and allegations about lesson plans along with constant criticism. If you are young, mediocre, soulless, and willing to do everything he says, you will probably become the new department chair. He will assemble a gaggle of useless, obsequious nitwits. They will be responsible for doing his bidding. We called them, "The Taliban." If central office wants an initiative, he will implement it--regardless of how nonsensical and wrong-headed. The good news is--he's like every bully. A bully is looking for an easy day. Teachers: Please remember to take ZERO s*** off this fool. He'll come at you hard, but if you come back at him and show no fear, he'll run away with his tail between his legs, slither away and start in on his next victim. Good luck, Everyone. I know you have some great teachers who really love kids. With any luck, he'll steal away like a thief in the night after only eighteen months right before the kids graduate.

No one is surprised. It’s more of the same. He won’t last here.

How is he with parents?

We need new people in leadership who have a squeaky clean past. Is this guy clean or will something be discovered about him while he’s at Lake Braddock that causes Gatehouse to make him disappear?

I couldn’t have summed it up better myself. He’ll say he’s not going to make big changes right away. The next thing you know, you have twice as many meetings, three times as much e-mail, and thirty people are on action plans. (And this is before the end of the first nine weeks!) I can confirm the previous poster’s comment about the constant observations. And yes, if you’re over forty, you can count on getting “extra attention.” You might even get two in one week! He’s an early adopter. Every new fad that comes around is good and everything old is bad. By the time he leaves (maximum three years), you’ll have lost forty to fifty original faculty members, and the remaining ones will be so divided, the school will not feel the same. He has improved his bullying technique since leaving the school to which the previous poster referred. It could be that the faculty at his last school let him get away with too much. But I also suspect that he refined his divide and conquer methods because I never knew him to back down. If anything, he’d come at you worse if you challenged him. And he isn’t above playing dirty. Principal of 3 schools in less than nine years. The guy is maybe forty years old. He was on the fast track to superintendency. Why leave Virginia Beach before even making it to Central Office?

If this guy doesn’t address the broken school culture and fix some things left over from the school’s past, he will be gone like everyone else before him.

If he doesn’t bring support for teachers and build back confidence in the community? It will be over.

And that would be the Karma that he deserves after torturing the faculty and staff at THREE different schools in VB for nearly a decade. Don’t worry too much for the students. They’ll be running the place. So if the student body of LB is mostly comprised of 4,000+ responsible and upstanding students, all will be fine. As for the parents, no cause for concern there either. He’ll eventually acquiesce to whatever they want. He’ll be too busy trying to get rid of the 60 year old art teacher or one of the night custodians to worry about things like student discipline and snowplow parents. All I can say is...We’re pulling for you. That’s why we’re giving you the forewarning that we wish we had gotten.

This is only his 4th day. Even with all the horrible reports, I doubt he can cause damage this quick!

I asked around, “How do you like the new principal? What do you think?” Six different students said, “I haven’t seen him.”

That he does very well. He does show up at as many school sporting events and activities as possible. He tries to get to know the kids through those venues.

If I were his Administrative Assistant, I’d put in for a transfer ASAP.
