I wonder if he knows about the parent control over at that school? What does he know?
If your kid plays the guitar you can demand access to the classroom so you can evaluate teachers. Then if you bully the school enough, you can get an all-day aid for your kid when what he really needs is different classes. Moms need to get a grip. I’m glad he’s not in MY class. That same mom will tell you all about it and then run for school board. WOW Vote for her and all kids in FCPS will get an aid? Or will she back up and let the school manage her kid’s education for a change? I hope this new guy is capable of withstanding the parents of Lake Braddock. He has a lot of work to do and parents are just a small part of the problem. |

| What would be most helpful would be for this guy to come in and get a grip on the school culture before making any big changes. Our teachers need to be reassured that he’s there to support and back them. Kids need to be held to their boundaries. Parents need to feel confident that all is well now at Lake Braddock. FCPS and the Board need to stop messing up there. |

The school has been fine. The kids aren’t paying attention to administrators. In a school that size a principal has little direct impact. I agree he should get the lay of the land first, but that’s true of any new job. I cringe whenever a new CEO comes in and immediately starts making changes. |

Here’s the truth:
The new principal was recruited back in the Fall. I heard he interviewed next to 2 FCPS people who would never get that job. He slid right into place. They had to fire the last guy to get this VA Beach man in the job but that was a mistake because the incoming principal couldn’t get out of his contract. HR had find another interim principal. I’m willing to bet that the VA Beach community is angry that they had hired someone who only stayed two full years. He has no real commitment to their kids. I bet he will be surprised at the school climate at Lake Braddock. I bet his house went on the market in Nov, sometime after the 14th. Shit show?It’s how FCPS does business. |

Yeah, go bruins!!! Fwiw - I asked a teacher at LBSS their thoughts on the new principal and the person said - it makes no difference to me - I keep doing what I’ve been doing. I think that’s probably right. I went to a big HS like LBSS and it’s true that I really had no interaction with the principal. Very occasionally an asst principal, if any admin at all. There’s one poster here who was a huge Meier supporter, who I have previously reported and had deleted for sock puppeting more than once, and it’s probably the same (and only) person now who keeps saying it is $h!tshow. If the person complains about anyone running for school board - it’s the same person. |

His record and his reputation proceed him. He’s a job hopper and he doesn’t really care. We figured as much because FCPS has it out for that school. No great educator leaves a school mid year like this guy does. Don’t let them tell you different either. He was recruited by Gatehouse. What a sham. No one is really surprised that he’s not what we had been promised though, right? It’s almost comical now except it’s peoples’ livelihoods and it’s our children.

He won’t wait. He thinks he knows it all. Genius wonder Boy! He won’t support the teachers unless he hired them, he cleans house where ever he goes. There is no discipline, the kids run the school. They are rude and disrespectful to the staff, and it’s ok. All will not be well in lake Braddock |

Yeah, I attended and graduated from LBSS back in the day when Alwood was principal. My kid was at the school when Thomas was principal. I don't know that I ever talked to either principal or heard any teachers say anything about them. I think some folks on this thread need to chill out and give the new guy a chance. |
