Some left for Loudoun already. I’d expect others to sample at Loudoun, Metro United, and other nearby ECNL/DA options for the older kids.

I can't find Metro United is that another name for Washington Spirit now?

Yes—filling out the Spirit VA online form will still work for now. They are still WS VA until the DA season ends in June. George Hales is the TD of Metro United and Torres is now an assistant.

If you owned an NFL team with poor attendance would you merge with another team? No you sell the franchise or move to a new city or both.

The asset and value is the DA slot. That is what was sold.

Some "left for Loudoun" means some players sitting the bench went to Loudoun for exercise. No FCV DA player would ever go to Loudoun, Metro United (terrible record as WS VA). Seriously check out the DA website and look at the FCV DA records. (one is the top team in the country). Why would anyone go to Loudoun?

WS VA DA will break away from WS and be rebranded as Metro United. Still using fields and infrastructure of GFR but with current WS coaches and technical support. Haters will say it's now GFR Elite (and GFR indeed is not elite) but unless they get all new players who all come from GFR, that's a silly argument. Doesn't mean it's a great place to play, but it IS not in Springfield.

You are the same one who said none of this was happening.

Metro United is not an independent club. If they are, name the owner, BOD, etc. Are they a privately owned for profit club? A nonprofit club? Tell us. We would like to know.

Any recent news on the St. James? I live in Springfield and went to the open house, but I’m surprised there hasn’t been more of a marketing effort. Is the St. James catering to sports leagues rather than families or individuals?

How do you know who is who first of all. And second of all many WS parents know the plan. Sorry you don’t.

They are catering to parents with kids that play sports. Their model is you drop your kid off to play a sport and then you go work out in the same facility. A normal membership is $169/month per person plus the cost of the sports programs.

If you want marketing go like their facebook page or google them, you will be bombarded with marketing.

I think the FCV teams will stay together. These girls are very successful and the practices will stay in evergreen. If you were in these teams you would know that they will stay.

Wrong. Some newly offered girls turned down those offers to go to Loudoun and other places. It is a fact. Nice arrogance and head in sand mentality, btw.
