| If DCE loses Bullis and has to practice on crap fields in gaithersburg, they are done. |
|
Yeah I guess DCE practices will be held at those awful facilities on Rockville Pike. Feel bad for those kids having to navigate the pot holes on Prep’s fields.
Get a life and move on—DCE is now premier club program for boys in DMV. |
True. Prep will have no issues renting their fields to DCE given their head coach is a DCE coach. Also, Prep really wants him to succeed so moving DCE over to Prep seems a natural fit. The issue is Prep has already scheduled a ton of activities so practice times might be all over the map this year. But the DCE parents will have a rude awakening in dealing with the alumni sports relationship and just how it affects pecking order and playing time. Prep didn't go 9-9 with all those good players for no reason. |
You wish. They have one great team. Rest of program is garbage, especially after their greed has been exposed. |
| Guess you didn’t see DCE 2022s beat Hawks, Madlax, BBL and several other top ten teams this summer. Please name a better 2022 team in DMV and don’t write Madlax because that team blew up with top players going to Hawks. |
Whoever started this awful thread should be booted from DCUM...nothing of value on this thread. No need to tear down others...start a new thread about how you are loving your new club or school. |
Truth hurts, mom. |

How’s DCE 2023?
|
| 2022 and 2021 are both top teams and I expect 2023 will pull in very strong players to continue this trend. |
| Hard to say with DCE 2023. BLC 2023 was not super strong in the HoCo (1-6), but with a respectable goal differential, so I guess it depends on how many players from other clubs move over to DCE and/or BLC players get stronger. Highly possible they will get better given the oddness with the former Madlax 2023 team in light of the whole Club Blue -- Madlax DC Dogs situation. |
| DCDogs 23 has all the best players in the area by a wide margin. DCE 23 couldn’t stay within 10 of this team today |
| I thought the Hawks had the best 2023 team??? |
| Yes, the Hawks won Hoco Elite this past spring for 2023, so they are the best team in our area. Club Blue (now basically DC Dogs) was #2. Next Level was #5 and DC Express #7. It will be interesting to see how things play out in 2019 Hoco. |
| It is amazing to me the premise behind the start of this inaccurate and petty thread. All the top clubs in our area have pre-tryout camps and make people pay fees for tryouts. In addition, all the top clubs in our area charge between $2,000-$3,000 annually for their teams depending on the year, how many dads coach, what they offer, and how many tournaments and leagues they play in. Most of these clubs are pretty similar - they each have teams that are good and teams that are to so good. They all charge lots of money. There are only so many truly talented and motivated lax players who consistently work hard and stay focused. The unfortunate reality is that most of them will not get college scholarships and play beyond high school. The most important thing is to have fun, work hard, learn lots, and be the best team mate and person you can be. |

All these parents talking about which club is the "best" at the 2023 level is really comical to me. The best player in 8th grade is rarely the best player in their senior year of high school. Kids develop and catch up in size/skill eventually.
Shelling out $3000 for team fees + $500 for tryout prep/tryouts..... What are you paying for?? Here's a secret they don't want you to know: You can just go to camps and prospect days. Might even get a better end result for a fraction of the time and cost! I know several top tier D1 players who never played club in their life. Most parents seem to like bragging that their kid plays for a "Premier" 8th grade team. Not to mention the dads who use their kids to leverage their way into coaching club ball. The whole thing is a disaster, and it's spilling over into a lot of these private schools. Any good private school coach is experienced in navigating the recruiting process (in some cases more experienced than a lot of these club directors), and has their players on a stickwork/lifting regimen in the off-season. Your kid actually has to put in the time at home to get anywhere, no club will ever provide the hours of repetition necessary to be a great player. What ever happened to playing rec lacrosse and multiple sports? Worked pretty well for PAUL RABIL https://laxallstars.com/my-first-club-lacrosse-experience/ I think club is a great resource for players who are serious about getting recruited and have realistic expectations, but just like everything cool.. parents ruin it when they get overly involved. If you want to be involved in your kid's lacrosse career give them the tools to practice, encourage them to get outside and play, keep on them about e-mailing college coaches... I can guarantee that is a more productive use of your time. For those of you who just got triggered.... Keep drinking the kool-aid, I'm sure these club directors appreciate you paying their mortgages |
